The drop off location had barely any room for parking. NO way to contact them about extending truck usage either.

I was told that the cost was going to be 380$ for a one way trip over the phone (you can check the recordings), I requested a change in Pickup location they agreed, but the rate was changed, not once was it mentioned the rate was going to change. I was charged 545$ (165$ more than the agreed amount). In addition the AC was not working so I drove the truck without AC for 500 miles. I showed it to a rep at the return location and she agreed, I feel cheated and would like to get a refund for the experience

Uhaul has to get more trucks

I am giving you feedback on my overall experience and a poor customer service that uHaul provides. I reserved a 15ft truck for 7/1 to be picked up at 7:30 am at the uHaul Jamaica location. The day before I get a call saying that the 15ft truck that I reserved 1 month in advance would not be available until 4:30 pm on 7/1. I had a 4 hours window to pack the furniture in my entire apartment, drive it to NY and unload everything by noon !!! The rep who actually didn't care that your company was causing me a huge dllemma and an inconvenience said that I could get the truck in Long Island at 1PM or go to Brooklyn loation and get the truck at 10 AM. So obviously I couldn't get a truck any earlier than 10 AM. I had to contact all of my helpers, call the leasing company t ask for an extension in the moving time because I wasn't getting the truck until 3 hours later. Wait.... it gets better. My husband and I drive to the Brooklyn loation at 10 AM to get my 15ft truck only to be told by the ladt that they do not have the truck at that location and proceeded to tell me to call the corporate office to have them help us ! WHAT ??? she should have called for us and get the truck for us !! Instead we got on the phone and waited 10 minutes on hold and then was told that there are no 15 ft trucks available but I could have a 10 ft truck instead and can go to the hillside location to pick it up ! 10ft truck??? I needed a 15 ft truck ! At this point I had no other choice by to take the smaller truck, get back in the car, drive from Brooklyn to queens village to get the truck and do the best I can to fit everything I had! So using the 10 ft truck didn't fit everything I had and had to tell 2 other people to drive their car so I can put some of the stuff I couldn't get int he truck and instead put it in their car ! WHAT A TOTAL INCONVENICE!! I WILL NEVER EVER RECOMMEND RENTING TRUCK FROM UHAUL EVER AGAIN ! YOU HAVE POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND DONT CARE WHAT INCONVENIENCE YOU CAUSE PEOPLE. YOUR SERVICE SHOULD BE THE SAME AS RENTING A CAR. IF YOU NEED A CAR AT A CERTAIN DATE AND TIME, CUSTOMER IS EXPECTED TO GET THE CAR AT THAT LOCATION, DATE AND TIME !!! YOU NEED TO FOLLOW THAT BUSINESS MODEL OTHERWISE YOUR COMPANY SHOULD SHUT DOWN !

Due to traffic, I was late 15mins for the scheduled pickup. I had come already checked in. The office (a gas station) was not staffed with a person who could proceed with the transaction.. I was told to wait '2mins', and after 10mins I started asking where the person was. 20mins later, the person shows up, and proceeds to berate me for asking for service. "You were late 15mins and I was late 5 so, what is the problem?" and refused to give me the reserved van. It is only after a Uhaul representative called him that the transaction was completed, after resistance at every possible point, to which I kept replying "give me the van, please'. At least, when the paperwork was filled, I was informed that 'anyway, you cannot have the van now, because a service repairman is working on the pipes'. The service repairman kindly moved his truck and it did not bother him. This person manning the uhaul station should either receive some anger management training or should not be in the customer service business. It was by far the most berating, unpleasant interaction I had with Uhaul. And you can see by my account history, I do use your services regularly. Thank You

truck i rented was NOT ready when I arrived for pick up. The previous driver left all of their things in the truck. Uhaul should have notified me at least one hour prior to my pick up time as I traveled a distance by public transportation to get to the this truck. Uhaul told me I can go somewhere else or take a smaller truck. As I couldn't get anywhere else at the moment, I had to settle for a small truck which results in 2 extra trips to take off the things that didn't fit, which also results in extra miles paid and gas used. Additionally, the truck I was given was full of sand, which I had to spend 20 minutes cleaning out.

First of all, the man who answered did not understand anything we said over the phone. He was very rude and we tried to explain our questions clearly, but he just didn't comprehend what we were asking. We called the office and asked if the truck needed to be dropped off by 7pm (closing time) and eventually he said no. Therefore, we were under the impression that we could drop it off after 7pm. We rented it for 5hrs and picked it up at 4:30pm. If the truck needed to be returned by 7pm, they should not let you pick 5hrs! Nothing was clear and so we called the day of to assure that we could drop off the truck later. A very angry man (same one) answered the phone and started saying we had to return it by 7pm and that he wouldn't wait. We got there at 7:30pm and he was gone. Another man was there and thankfully he was able to do the return, although he did have to call the other guy in charge. Overall, a horrible experience.

Start hiring people to answer your phones. I called the first time and they hung up on me after waiting 6 minutes and 29 seconds. The second time I called they once more hung up on me after 6 minutes and 52 seconds. I was finally able to get through on the third time. This is unacceptable. I’m debating using your company in the future specifically because of this unpleasant incident. Hire more people to answer the phones, or loose me as a customer and get poor reviews on social media... The choice is yours...

The cargo van was given to me in a condition described as "new" though 1) the back door, left panel, did not open due to a metal rod which no longer fit in an orange plastic hole, necessitating much fumbling around in the dark to re-push the rod into the orange piece in order for the left panel to open properly, 2) a number of cosmetic scratches were visible on the side, driver side in particular, before I got the van, and 3) U-Haul demanded I re-fill the gas tank "full" which is very difficult to do accurately since the needle did not move much in my rental, the result of which I paid near $8 for gas for only 6 miles of driving, apparently much due to the prior driver who did not completely fill his tank "full" when he finished. U-Haul should not rent vehicles with the needle in a position which do not show small though important changes, e.g., may be in a non-linear zone.

When i order u-haul's products, such as box. furniture rugs. tapes. there is nothing in location. still hasn't got any refund yet. truck pickup lot was blocked by employee's vehicle. had to wait over 15 mins. poor experience ever

The location manager was Excellent!!! but on another note.. Your phone customer server was horrendous!! I originally ordered a box truck then changed it to a cargo van confirmed with a phone call you can verify with phone logs. when i got to the location at the scheduled time there was NO cargo van available! so by no choice I ordered a box truck. and then called to see what happened and they changed my location of the order almost making it impossible for what i needed the truck for. I never confirmed a change of address. The attendant on location was Excellent and I would recommend anybody to use his service! I plan on using you again for my business. but cant have this happen again. -JP

Let the customer know that the truck may not be parked in a residential area. One could not possibly know that when one does not drive a commercial vehicle. Completely unacceptable!! Had I known I wouldn't have taken the truck overnight!! Very disappointing!!
