Originally got went to the location after viewing available trailers in the area in the uhaul website which told me my rate was going to be around $18. I recently used a trailer before so I was familiar with the price. I didn’t finish the prodcedure online because I wanted to do it in person at the location. The owner was unwilling to give me a price quote when I asked him how much it was, claiming he wasn’t sure the pricing. After looking at my vehicle he went back to his computer and quoted me $45~ for a 4x8 and over $50 for a 5x8. I was going to go to another location when he recommended I process the rental through the website. I was able to secure my rate of $18 and use the equipment. Before leaving I was not given a return time and told that I could keep it out an extra hour at no charge. I was also told that I didn’t have to take pictures of it when I dropped it off and the owner would take care of the paper work in the morning. Since I had recently rented with uhaul I followed the same procedures to return the equipment, dropping off, taking pictures, but when it asked to charge me my rate was almost $40. I can only think I was double charged even after I was assured that I could bring the trailer back later. The owner seemed like a nice guy but this whole experience has made me wary of 3rd party uhaul vendors.

Didn't check in the truck the day I dropped off. Had to call to tell them to check in the truck next day and got charged for extra day.

I've rented lots UHAULS, and this rental experience will go down as the worst by far. The incompetent man who attached the trailer to our car did not screw down the ball clamp and the trailer came off when we were on the on-ramp to I540 (were were only going about 45mph at the time). The trailer started violently swinging back and forth and nearly hit a car beside us. We were able to get off the road without it killing us or someone else, and it did some minor damage to our back bumper. We immediately called Buffalo Grocery to report the incident, and the man insisted that he connected the trailer correctly. He didn't even ask us to return to have the equipment inspected, which would have been the logical thing to do since he was convinced he correctly attached it. When I went to reattch the trailer, I noticed he hadn't even come close to securing the ball clamp all the way. When we brought the trailer back, I once again reported what had happened and how badly this could have ended. The guy behind the counter (who was the one who processed the paperwork earlier in the day), simply said "sounds good". No apology, no vehicle or trailer inspection... just obviously did not care. This is not only bad service, but total irresponsibility and incompetence.

I was very displeased with the service here because the terms and agreements were not told to me upfront. It was just a simple, come in, swipe my card for payment and then sign a piece of paper and hand me the keys. Upon return all I had to do was hand over the keys which was fine until I get a phone call 2 hours later saying that they were charging me extra for gas because I didn't put the amount that was in rental upon return which was fine and I was told to deposit $26 in my amount so they could close out the contract or I would be charged for another day of rental. I rushed to the bank and deposited that exact amount only to get another phone call a hour later saying that I went over in miles now and that I needed $41 in my account or I will be charged for a second day. By this time I'm pissed because I should of been told that the first time they called and I have no transportation to the bank because my fiancé had already left for work and the bank was closed. The guy was rude and he made the mistake by not looking up the correct amount before calling me to make a deposit in my bank for payment. I will not ever be using the uhaul service ever again and will not recommend this service to anyone I know.

I was setup with a neighborhood dealer and the phone person said she set my reservation for 1:15. I arrived at 1, the truck wasn't there and my reservation time was for 2:15. This completely screwed my day up for moving. I don't blame the neighborhood uhaul people but I do blame the lady that made the reservation. My brother worked for uhaul so I know where the ball was dropped on this one..

Dog hair all in the front cab. Took 20 minutes to go through rental process even though I had done it on the phone prior to going. And, the final cost for a 19.95 rental that I drove 24 total miles was $103.

I was very glad that the Buffalo Grocery was open to call them for directions as GPS shows that address near Selma, not near 540.

Contract was not written correctly, location did not want to accept truck on return. Contract had to be re-written and was given the run around for refund. And still waiting for refund. Will never do business with Uhaul, for me was not a pleasant experience.
