I would appreciate knowing what possible locations could be proposed in advance of pickup. I understand the inventory and locations are somewhat fluid but if a commitment had been made to provide the truck it should be possible to list the locations from most likely to least likely. I could then make potentially necessary travel arrangements for pickup. There were questions about the type of tires on the truck and whether or not they were suitable for driving over the Rogers Pass. I got a call from a Uhaul representative telling me I had to pay for the tires to be changed over to the appropriate kind. They c/wouldn't provide any details, just that the tire type was MY responsibility. I had to research the local tire laws, inspect the truck being offered, and draw my own conclusions as to their suitability. This is an unacceptable approach to a customer safety issue. If U-Haul is committing to the rental, THEY should also be commuting to providing a safer vehicle.
Michael TThere is very high demand for in-town truck rentals for people furnishing newly built condos as construction is being completed. You should ensure that this location has several trucks for in-town rentals (e.g. vans, 10', 15', 20'). They are usually sold out, so you are missing out on a lot of potential business. The manager is friendly, courteous and very helpful; he is a good ambassador for U-Haul.
