The location was closed, but I knew it would be - the website clearly said you could drop off the truck afterhours, which was great. Then low and behold, I'm billed an additional $20 for returning the truck after hours. NOWHERE ON THE SITE DOES IT SAY YOU'LL BE CHARGED MORE FOR RETURNING THE TRUCK AFTERHOURS. I liked using the website link to turn in the car and take a picture of the dashboard. One suggestion is the 'Location Services' needed to be turned on for Safari in my iPhone10. Location Services was already turned in my Settings/Privacy/Location Services, but I didn't realize I had to do the extra step to turn it on for a specific app, Safari. Might help to educate the customer in advance, during the beginning of rental. ThanksCharles K.
For some reason the rental was cancelled after I'd already picked up the truck and started moving. Finally got things cleared up on the phone after waiting at the drop off point for some time. Seems the remote pick up system has some bugs needing to be ironed out.Michael B.
I started out my rental experience at Portage Road in Kalamazoo. The trailer was needed to move a refrigerator which was 5' 1â€ tall. I told the 1800 agent that is what was needed, but yet when I got to Portage Rd, the trailer was only 4' something, too short. They sent me to Lovers Lane because they had one tall enough. When I drove there, no one was at the store, and 3 people were waiting in the parking lot. One of the persons said someone would be there in 10 minutes. I couldn't wait, so called U Haul while on to my appointment, which I was late. They got me in touch with James at Gull Road U Haul and he took good care of me. An excellent place to do business with!James W.
They don't rent too many U-haul trucks. Were a little slow. But very pleasant when dealing with customers.James G.
While I think the location and management of this location seem strong, the local representation for UHaul in the area appears lacking. The retailer was not able to give me an appliance dolly that I had reserved online. They said they have asked many times to get one/some but his "rep" never has brought one. Just the story relayed to me so don't know the both sides of it. Also the time Saturdays hours were listed wrong on line and I was told they have tried to get corrected also.Kevin K.
