I was charged for insurance, even though when I reserved I opted out of it. I did not catch it until after I had left the premise. I also did not receive my reservation for a dozen furniture pads. The trailer also had a fair amount of dirt, which I had to sweep out prior to loading my furniture.

I would suggest that vehicles be cleaned and maintained .... 1st truck when started, the brake pedal went to floor, had to change to another truck that was banged up bad. Broken mirror, broken sun visor clip (so sun visor hung down), drivers door damaged to the point the door had to be slammed hard in order to close it and bug splatter on windshield with personal belongings of prior rental in cab then the box area of the truck- Grass clippings in it to the point it had to be swept out by myself prior to being used. Not the best experience this time considering I've used U-Haul many times prior

The phone calls made to the call center were very inconsistent. The first Lady I spoke with had a VERY difficult time adding the cost, insurance and miles together correctly. The second person, a gentleman I spoke with gave me a different total and then when I got to store after express online registering the gentleman told me the information didn’t keep and yet I got another total. Upon dropping off the truck, the gentleman was helpful. I felt bad I didn’t have more money for a better tip.

I want to tell who ever will listen that "Cal" knows the meaning of Customer Service. He went above and beyond the call of duty for me today. I was having an issue with my truck plug and he could have told me to go get it fixed and then come back for the trailer I was picking up. No he stepped up and helped me solve the issue and got me on my way. I have rented trucks and trailers from this location before and have always been treated fair and had everything in order when I got there and when I was returning. What Cal did today was take what could have been a bad situation for me and turned it into a wonderful experience. If I was looking for an employee he would be the person I would want having my back with my business. Thank You for everything you did for me today. I am so glad that I decided to cancel my appointment rental at compass self storage. I was forced to cancel due to no other truck being available when the one I received needed heavy maintenance/ transmission work. I ended up going to u haul of roseville and the lovely woman there went out of her way to help me. The truck worked perfectly.

Picked up the U-Haul which the bed was FULL of broken glass. Got charged extra miles due to lack of communication on their end. Dropped the truck off at a different location cause I was told I could just to be called TWO hours later telling me I had to come get it and return it where I originally rented it. Over all a huge joke.

I read the bad reviews about unprofessional staff, incorrect mileage and gas readings, dirty trucks, etc..and was reluctant but reserved a cargo van regardless. I am glad I did. The staff was both professional and friendly, the mileage and gas were recorded correctly, the van was clean, it did have a funny smell but you could tell they tried masking it with air freshener but at least they made an effort. My experience at this location went very smooth. Granted it was a Wednesday evening at 6pm and not a Saturday morning, but Saturday mornings should be expected to be hectic with more chance for error, that's common sense.

The gentleman that made my reservation was very rude and uninformative. As a first time customer I was not happy with his customer service skills. The gentleman that helped me sign the contract and got the truck for me was very nice and pleasant to speak with.

The people who check the trucks at return are beyond unprofessional. Gave me the wrong paperwork with someone else’s credit card info on it. Took forever to check my truck because he chose to sit on his phone and text the entire time while sitting and burning the gas out of the truck. The other guy was on FaceTime with his friend and basically made me wait until he felt like ending his call. Worst experience ever and I’ve rented before but next time I’ll choose somewhere else

Gas level on paperwork was higher than gauge showed. Took picture and submitted the discrepancy through the checkin link. However, I still had to return the truck with the level that matched the paperwork and did not get a credit in the cost.

There were cigarette ashes in the truck. We made a reservation amd they didnt know how to work their equipment and had to manually type our card in 3 times even though i used the same card for the reservation. They also had 2 less miles on the contract than were in the truck.

If you reqest a dolly on a one way trip staff should make sure it's in the truck. I trusted it was in the truck but once i got to my storage unit it was missing and didnt have time to go back to the rental store get it proceeded to call and a note was just put on the file and money not take off for it.
