I only drove the truck 11 miles put 2 gallons of gas in it and got charged $24.95 for gas fee plus was charged $15 optional fee for safe move coverage that I didn't want or was even asked about. No place to park truck on return had to drive around block several times adding to milage. This is dishonest U-Haul stay away!

The truck was clean but had several major issues. First, the driver window insulation wasn’t sealed and caused an intense buffering vibration in the cabin when driving about 50 mph. This was a cross country move from Santa Barbara to Austin so nearly all miles were on the interstate at 70 mph or above, which was painful. The other issue is that the driver side mirror wasn’t secure and kept tilting downward toward the road, causing me to crouch in the drivers seat every time I needed to look to my left to check for other vehicles. The combination of these factors made me lose respect for U-Haul. I paid $3,000 for this rental, excluding gas, and I expect a higher degree of functionality from a vehicle for such charges. I don’t think these issues are something that the pick up location could have identified unless they test drove the truck on the highway, so this complaint is not directed toward Happy or his crew. The previous renters should have noted these issues for subsequent inspection.
Ian TThere was damage on the vehicle that was unnoticeable while it was parked. They charged me for the damage.
JOSEPH PU-Haul moved both the pickup location and the drop off location, the latter of which was done in the middle of the rental. Pickup location was not aware that the rental was one-way and it cause me a delay of over 40 minutes while the person helping me dealt with it. I told him I didn’t like being forced to pick it up at a location that wasn’t where I had chosen and then made to wait because the rental information was not properly transferred to the new location. This person got angry and said nobody forced me to do anything and that it was my choice to rent from U-Haul. Yes, I was forced if I wanted to move that day, and I chose the original U-Haul location for a reason. It wasn’t this guy’s fault that this happened, but his reaction was totally uncalled for.
