There was heavy rain, and while driving, a steady drip developed in on the driver's side of the inside of the cab. It dripped all over the steering wheel and on me. I informed the U-Haul location when I returned the truck, and all the attendant said was "that needs to be fixed." Duh. No sorry, nothing else.Bruce P.

I was charged a $26 surcharge on a $19.95 van rental and went 15 miles. The surcharge was as much as the rental. I was not told of the surcharge prior to the rental. Guys working the day I picked up were great. Truck worked well. Things which might improve things for renter: Encourage renter to record truck condition before use. Leave a broom in the truck for cleaning purposes. Leave ratchets straps or sting in truck for purchase similar to blankets.Nicholas S.

The woman who I believe is the manager of the Lancaster Avenue location is the epitome of what customer service should be! When I placed my order for a trailer, I expected to get one in the Reading area and the first email response listed Shillington as the pickup location. The following day I received a confirmation listing Pottsville as the pickup location, a one hour drive from Mohnton Pa. When I stopped at the Lancaster Avenue location to see if I could get a closer pickup, this woman checked her computer and found nothing in the area. It turns out that this woman lives in the Pottsville area and she volunteered to bring the trailer down to the Lancaster Avenue location when she came to work that Saturday morning for me to pickup there. This woman turned my two hour drive into a five minute drive! I regret that I did not get her name, but her dedication to service for this customer greatly impressed me and made me a U-HAUL a customer for life! My original reservation was a 9pm pickup on 4/2/21, and a 24 hour reservation. At 7:30pm that night I got my confirmation that my reservation was a 9pm pickup. Not even 10 minutes later I got another message saying my pickup was now 8am 4/3/21. I tried calling the 800 number but no one pickup up the phone for 15 minutes. I checked my account to see if there was a message about it but instead I saw the information I submitted for my account was changed. My name, birth date, drivers license number, expiration date, all were changed. No idea why, and no message about the reservation. That had to be done manually, and why it was done at all is atoll a mystery to me. I needed the truck to start packing that night so we could leave in the morning, but instead had to wait until the next day to start. So I go to the store to pick up my truck, do online check in, and the truck I was assigned on the website was assigned to another couple who were in the process of driving it off the lot. I stopped them, asked if they were maybe in the wrong truck, and they showed me the paperwork and it was the same truck I was just assigned. I went inside to get it figured out and get answers about why my reservation was changed and my information was changed and all I got was "oh that's weird, that's not supposed to happen." Nothing about looking into who or why my personal information was changed or anything. Truck was new, drove great, never saw a uhaul with a Bluetooth radio, which was nice for the amount of driving I had to do. Customer service seemed a bit lacking, made me feel like I was imposing on their day, which is why I wanted to do online pickup but that got messed up.COLIN R.
The reason that I'm giving this place a below average review is because both of the employees who work at this location refuse to wear any type of mask while customers are present or even when they're getting close to customers. I informed the morning shift man to please wear a mask when he gets close to me, but he adamantly refused to use any type of mask or covering.Bernardo C.
this was not the location I requested but did not get the notification until the day of the rental. when I called the 1-800 number to see if I have any other options, I was on hold for more than 40 min. This location and the person who processed my rental there were great - but doesn't quite make up for the aggravation I went through in the morning of the rental.Joohyun R.
On my rental contract, it listed the return time as 7pm. When I returned the truck just before 7pm, the office was closed. So I used the key drop box. Then found out I was charged a $20 fee for dropping the truck off after hours. Guys at the desk says it's because they close at 5pm on Sunday. Very misleading.
