It's hard to rate the location because I did mobile check-in. I didn't go inside except to pick up the key. The mobile check-in defnitely saved me time, though there was more to it than I expected, e.g., taking pictures of my driver's license and the truck.

I rent from you guys all the time because you are close and normally pretty decent. This time not so much. First I made the reservation for 10:45 pick up on Thurs. I was waiting on my friends to help move so I decided to go and pay for the truck and get that ready first and then my friends were going to meet me there and one of them was going to drive my car while I drove the truck. The lady at front desk told me that I could not pay until I was able to drive the truck off the lot. So I had to go drop off my car and come back. So I do that and came back at 11:30. So then I’m told that the person before me left it on empty and I was told that if I bring it back on quarter tank I would be reimbursed $4.25 gallon for doing you a favor. This is a 26 footer and I shouldn’t have to go get gas in it just to drive it less than two miles. Then I’m told to inspect it and I was told to use the link that was sent to my phone to look at online pics of the damage to the truck or something like that. We tried multiple times but the link never worked and so the guy helping me tells me to go ahead and just take pics of all the damage and keep that and when I return we will compare notes. Again, this is the biggest truck you have so I have to go around a taking all these pics. So I finally get done and leave. I called later that night letting them know that I needed it through Sat at 11:45 (that’s what time I picked it up on Thursday) and when I did that the guy said “you mean 10:45 because that’s when you picked it up?” And I said no I didn’t end up being able to pick it up until 11:45. He then told me no problem just tell them the situation when you come in to drop off otherwise it is a real pain to redo the reservation. Then I drop it off at 10:15 and there is a huge line of people in the office. I stand there in line for about 7 mins until someone asks if I was returning and we get it all done but I got home and noticed a message from someone there who called at 10:30. The message was sort of condescendingly asking when I planned on bringing the truck in because they had another reservation. What was the point of me calling to extend my reservation? Why did I have to be the one to pull that monstrosity into a gas station just to go two miles? Why should I have to go around the truck and take pics of the damage because your app didn’t work? Why isn’t it your responsibility to have someone take the time to walk me through the damage? My biggest piece of feedback is this. You have WAY too much truck inventory on your lot and it makes it hard for your employees to even do their job correctly. I was told that they didn’t have the room to pull the truck around the front so they could inspect it themselves and there is no where ever for your customers to park. What’s the point in having all those trucks if you are driving your customers away by the inconvenience of you having all those trucks????? I know you guys are better than that.

The truck smelled heavily of tobacco smoke. Even though the person who helped me wiped it down with odor eliminator by the end of my rental the tobacco smell was back. Not as strong as it was before she wiped it down- but it was still there. I feel this should have been taken care of before the truck was made available to be rented.

Searching for vehicle for mobile pickup is too much of a hassle. I was better off doing in person pickup. Also mentioning alternative contacts or lease agreements ahead of time for preparation would speed up the process.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE--- don't change the drop off location on your customers like you did with us! On-line, the drop off locatilon was in Oldtown, but the actual updated dropoff location required an hour extra drive to the MIDDLE OF NOWHERE!

I tried self drop off after hours though after the verification number came through on my phone there was no further option/link to complete the check in. I would have gladly completed the process if it had been possible but ended up with a $20 fee to have it done by the Uhaul personnel the next day. A refund of the $20 would be nice.

The young man who was “helping “ us at the Shoreline location took 1.5 hrs. to get us set up with the truck I had previously reserved. This made us very late getting out of Seattle & on our way. Also, it took this long despite us being the only people in the building at 7:30 a. m. that morning. He was hard to understand because he rattled off the information so quickly I had to ask him to repeat himself more than once. Then, he didn’t know how to add the moving supplies I bought to our reservation, so he charged me the tax for each separately. This caused me to have to pay taxes twice. In addition, I had to go back into the building after he told us the truck was ready to ask routine questions that he had not answered while we were at the counter. Finally, he did not tell us to check the mileage before turning in the truck at a different location than where we picked it up. He promised us free miles for returning the truck elsewhere, but that location said we drove twice as many miles as we actually did. I didn’t know of this until the following morning because the alternative location was close to closing time. They handed us a brochure & assured us we could get the truck checked in online. However, they had already done so & charged us by the time I called about the over charges. The end result was that we were charged for what should have been free miles, plus the additional miles they said we drove. I will not be using U Haul services again in the future if I have any other service to choose from.

I scheduled a ubox at another location and they rescheduled it for a place really far from my origin point and I had to call and guess to where the best location was. This was frustrating and had nothing to do with the facility I picked up at.
