The person that hooked up my trailer did so incorrectly and did not say more than two words to me. When I got home and read through the safety instructions, I was shocked to see he very clearly did not attach the chains right to the vehicle hitch. The interior of the trailer was very dirty and had metal shavings all over the inside from apparent damage from the previous user. This was my second time using this location for services and failed to meet average expectations both times.

John Bradshaw was friendly and explained the details and procedures to rent the truck and had it ready for me quickly. When I returned it, Katherine Ogden was also friendly and expeditious doing the inspection and providing my portion of the paperwork. This is a good place to do business at.

Our experience with U-haul. to whom it may concern: starting Friday June 24, my husband and I went to 202 McKlintok location to rent a truck for Saturday 25. We were told no trucks were available and were referred to another location. We decided to call thomas/ scottsdale location, the represenative was nice and was able to reserve a truck , the rep explained they can transfer a truck to a gas station for pick -up Saturday at 9:30 am. the location was Hayden/McKellips, so we thought everything was set and done. Saturday morning arrived at the pick-up location at 810 to confirm our reservation, the young clerk, her name was Miriam said truck has not arrived yet, and told my husband it should be there at 9:30 as scheduled. we left back home. My husband called the gas station at 9:10 to asked about the truck. Miriam told my husband that the manager Nick will bring the truck himself at 9:30. 9:30 my husband calls the gas station to tell him he is on his way for the truck, Miriam tells my husband truck is not there, she told him it is at location 202/McKlintok for pick-up, we went to 202 location explained what happened to truck situation, 202 told my husband that there was NO truck for us at thier location, my husband was transferred to a third location, which third location finally told us the reservation had been made for pick-up at 101/ Apache. At this point we were both frustratedfrom all this run around, so at 9:40am I called the original location, which took my reservation at Thomas/Scottsdale. A lady named Makela answered, I explained the situation about the frustation and run-around regarding our truck. I asked" where's our truck". Makela was understanding and said she will do her best to help us resolve this mess. She took my phone number and said she will call me back in 5 minutes. Makela did call back, told me OUR TRUCK WAS DELIVERED TO PICK UP LOCATION AT HAYDEN/MCKELLIPS HOWEVER THE BATTERY WAS DEAD, and she told me why this location did not let us know about the truck. My response was" so gas station lied to us and said thier was NO truck there". Makela said she will give my number to higher managment Mike, so we can get a proper resolution to our problem. About 2 minutes later, Makela calls me back and tells me her upper managment said to talk to 101/Apache for some kind of compensation. About 10 am I called 101/ Apache location I spoke to manager Mike expained my story and expressed my frustration, I asked Mike if he can help resolve my problem, Mike expained to me that unfortunately he can't help with compensation, because i needed to talk to manger at the original location that took our reservation. Mike said he does have a truck available. My husband and I went to pick up a truck at the 101 location, we spoke to Mike and took care of us the best he could, he apologized for the whole inconvenience we went through, Mike gave us the website to file our complaint. My only complaint was price per mile, 99 cents per mile cost me more than truck and equipment, why so high rates? We traveled 100 miles, Tempe to Maticopa then over to Gilbrt and back to Mesa b4 tirning in truck in Tempe

I only dropped the trailer off at the Apache Blvd location because the designated return location was unattended when I arrived. Pretty poor customer service. In Pleasanton, CA, U-Haul didn't have the trailer I RESERVED - a reservation U-Haul accepted. I was charged for an extra day despite the fact the LARGER trailer I was given (that I didn't want and didn't need) caused my vehicle to consume more gasoline over the 750 mile trip that the extra days charge. I am not happy and will never use you guys again unless you at least refund the cost of the extra day you charged me for.

I had never driven a large truck before. Asked for advice and none was given. Truck windshield was dirty. Asked them to clean it, and they acted like it was a huge ordeal. The nastiest people are the ones who answer the so called "customer service" line. After being on hold for 45 minutes just to pay an extra fee for the unloading of my truck, I was treated in a very rude manner. The people who loaded the truck did so in such a bad manner that many of my items were severely damaged. When I mentioned this to the rude woman on the phone she said, "Well, we don't endorse any of them"!!! That makes NO sense at all. They are on YOUR website, so OF COURSE you endorse them. I then had to pay even more for the unloading of my truck because the unloaders had to unload what was in the house AND the garage, then put the garage items back in and drive to the garage. It took 6 hours instead of 3 due to the initial bad packing. I will NEVER use UHaul again!!!
