There was no one at the location. When we finally got help 1 1/2 hours later to get a code to get in to get the truck, it had not been serviced, and had none of the 36 packing pads we had paid for. We had to drive to another location and wait in a long line to get the packing pads. The online people contacted the owner of the first store who said that someone called in sick, but there was a worker who came to the store but only yelled at us that we couldn’t come in to get the truck and refused to help us. This location was selected by U-Haul for us to pick up the truck. They have horrible customer service!!! Stay away from this location.

DORIS PClean your equipment and fill the tank full before customer pickup. Shop was closed so had to do it all via the app. Most of the info requested could have been done ahead of time instead of waiting til I was sitting in the parking lot in a hot vehicle trying to get the app to work (poorly designed). The app provided a pic of where the truck was sitting, except that that whole area of downtown Topeka is under construction and the parking area on that end of the building is gone. So, the picture was misleading and had to hike around the area to try to find the truck. The cargo area was full of debris, dirt, grass, trash, and grease. The hood, window, and side were covered in bird poop. The cab was littered with trash and grass. The entire cab floor area (both sides and the step-ups) was covered in spilt oil and assorted debris. I'm sure you charged the previous renter with a cleaning fee and then left it for me to clean so I wouldn't get crap on my goods. Tank was only 1/4 full at pickup which makes it difficult to return at same level without giving you extra gas for free. I know why you do it intentionally, cuz you likely charged the prior user with not returning it full and hoping next one will overfill it for free...but it pisses off the next customer who has to try to calculate how much gas will be needed and then fill it with only that amount ahead of the trip.
