The truck smelled heavily of piss, the “lockbox” for key pickup didn’t exist, the person that was supposed to be our “24/7” helpline didn’t pick up and so we spent 35 minutes looking for the keys to the car. We only finally found it because we were lucky enough to have someone come back and return their U-haul and tell us that there is no box and the key is just in the U-haul stuffed in the driver’s seat. This whole ordeal made me miss my appointed time to go to my storage so ultimately I literally wasted all my money and time and couldn’t even store my stuff. Not recommended for anyone with any sort of time constraint.

Poor Customer Service by one of the representatives. He added the Collision Damage Waiver ($15) on my contract without even asking, and most especially since I already had my own cover. When I protested, he seemed confrontational and demanded to see proof of my Insurance (like I'd be carrying it around). I was in a hurry and not in the mood to argue, otherwise I would have terminated the contract on the spot.

Overall the U-haul experience was good! The truck itself worked well. But it was quite dirty. it hadnt been cleaned out before we got it. so there were chocolate wrappers and other things still in the car. This wasnt an issue for us, but if someone had left something else that could have gone bad, that would have been a different story!

I tried reordered the pick-up truck for the day after tomorrow. The office guy took my name and phone number and told that everything will be well but when I call back tomorrow to be sure that I can get it in proper time a manager told no truck and no vans. He offered to order a truck for me from other U-Haul location which is pretty far from my location. It was Ok but he told I can get a truck at 8 am only when I need it at 7 am. I never met this kind of treatment in my life. I am really disappointed. This company doesn't look like serious one.

It was everything we needed, on very short notice. Super efficient, and easy to pick up and drop off! We did move in the middle of the month and in the middle of the day to avoid traffic and high volume demand.

The floor had a metal access panel that was completely unsecured and dangerous. One of my friends got injured when their foot went through the hole. The staff were very nice and helpful despite the nasty truck.

I'm still waiting for my bill I did not receive a bill detailing what I was charged. I was not asked if I wanted a $15 charge for insurance. It was automatically charge at pickup.I was asked to just sign. Upon arriving at the location the gentleman at the counter was on his phone texting and continue to text while we stood there. I have since email asking for my invoice. When I return the vehicle he never give a me a final bill. I still require a receipt final bill thank you. Sam

I understand that the location was at a busy intersection, so I was not disappointed by the tricky turns I was forced to make. However, it is very awkward to get in and out of, as there is zero parking. The attendant was very thankful that I folded my blankets and took care of my quickly. He was the only good part of my UHaul experience.

My move would have been fine if not for Uhaul. Booked a cargo van at a different location, but the booking got moved here, which is no big deal. I checked my Uhaul account in the morning the day before my reservation and it said my reservation was still for the morning / early afternoon of the 29th but at this location. I then tried to call the location several times to confirm because timing was very important. I was moving out of a condo, where you have to book the time that you're moving out to use the elevator and loading bay. I had it booked from 1-3pm. Before I went to sleep I double checked my Uhaul reservation to check the address of where I was picking up the truck only to see that the reservation had been changed to 6:15pm. There were no other trucks in the city, and no one had informed me about this change. The next morning I called Dignity to ask what happened and they never responded. Called Uhaul and they told me thats all that can be done, and that Dignity had logged in the system that they left me a voicemail telling me about the change. That never happened. So it was quite stressful. Later I went to Dignity to pick up my van and got there 45 minutes early. The van wasn't ready so the owner told me to come back in 30 minutes. I did, then when I came back he was gone and two other employees were trying to sort out a problem. The owner was on his cell phone on a call in the back room and the other employees were not willing to bother him. A couple had brought in a van and paid for their deposit in cash and was waiting for the cash back. I found out in a roundabout way from one of the employees that this was my van and it couldn't be given to me until their contract was signed off, despite the fact that there were at least 5 other identical vans on the lot. The owner remained on his phone for about an hour total, and the couple that returned the van ended up leaving and asking if they could come back the next day to pickup the deposit. As soon as they left the owner came out and gave me my contract, while still on the phone. I then left at around 6:50pm for my move that was scheduled at 1pm. I was dropping off the van in a city about an hour away and scheduled it to be dropped at a location close to my house. When I was in the van with my father I asked what the exact address of the location was and he told me it wasn't the location I was thinking. It was a location in a different city. He then called Uhaul to ask if we could still drop it off at the location I had scheduled for, and they said of course that's fine. So we went to the location I originally scheduled. When we arrived they said they could not receive the truck; it has to go where it says on the contract otherwise there will be a large fee. So we got back in the truck and drove it to the next location only to get a KM overage fee because we were told to go to the original location. This was overall just a terrible experience that needed to have much better communication

The floor matts in the passenger cab as well as in the cargo had sticky residue from spills and there was no windshield washer fluid at all.

The service at 1668 Queen Street West is absolutely disgraceful. The manager who runs that franchise is rude, disrespectful and unorganized. Excellent customer service skills are essential when managing a business, and this gentleman is lacking those basic pieces. I will never use U-Haul again because of the experience I had with him. The gentleman at 626 Dundas was the life saver and treated us well. He runs a considerate, thoughtful location.

I’m blaming the online system and not this location, but I got a smaller truck than what I had ordered and 4 hours later than when I had booked it for. Had to make multiple trips because of the smaller truck, which made the day much longer than it should have been.

1- They did not allow me to use my the Truck Share 24/7 to get the vehicle when I arrived. Instead they insisted I deal with them. 2- At the end of my trip there was an extra 1/8 tank of fuel in the vehicle, why do I not get reimburse for it? I'm sure you would charge me if the fuel level was less than what I started with. It should go both ways.

Tire level was low. Gas wasn’t actually at 1/4 when picked up. The van smelled like a barn and the staff were extremely rude, pushy and didn’t have any sense of customer service. This was actually a last ditch option for us as we were late booking a moving van.. if you have a choice, don’t use this place!

When I arrived, 1h45m before their posted closing time, the place was locked up and no one was around. I called headoffice at Uhaul, they gave me a 45 min runaround on the phone then I had to book for the following day instead. I was told I would be given a discount for my booking, but they just charged me full price after the fact anyway and refused to change their mind about it. Go with Zipcar, it's cheaper, better and easier to use.

They had a piece of plywood left in the truck, and then charged me a $20 cleaning fee as if I had left it there. I have tried multiple times to call them to rectify this problem, and there is no answer
