Booked online and chose my pickup time based on the hours someone would be there. Website said staff would be there until 5, so I had to book at 4:30 if I wanted a person, because I wasn’t sure how the mobile pickup worked. When I arrived, there was no one and the sign posed said they are only on site until noon!! The mobile pickup was easy enough but not at all ideal. Truck was also filthy with mud. Not cleaned. Could have rented me one of the other 10 sitting there that were most likely cleaner.

We had a 3-4 hour delay to UHaul's unprofessional and unhelpful attitude and were misinformed several times, which led to a lot of frustration and delays in what was already a stressful moving day. I was personally at home packing, while my mother, Annick Karki (on the reservation) went to get the Cargo Van that I had reserved ahead of time online the week before, for the 177 Carlton location in Toronto. When she got there, the van was not available because the previous customers had not returned it. This is not our problem, as paying customers. You should have other vans available, or given us a size up upgrade for free. Whether other people are sticking to their timeline should not affect us. Instead, my mother Annick was sent to go pick up a van at ANOTHER location. I have talked with several friends of mine, and when this has happened to them, they have been given another truck that is available, but have NEVER been sent elsewhere to pick up another van. This was already frustrating considering this would add time to our planned schedule. Further, and very annoyingly, my mother was given the WRONG address to go pick up the cargo van!! Please see the attached picture for card that the customer service rep had written on attached to this email as PROOF. It says Queen street EAST, where the actual location to pick up the van was Queen street WEST. I understand you wrote the intersections but my mother does not know downtown super well (it is a BIG city) and you cannot expect this to fall on us. We already were behind on our move and on top of that we go the WRONG address. As a company, you should make sure you are giving your customers the correct information especially if you are asking them to accomodate. I know you sent me a text with the information but you very well knew I was NOT with her (we had spoken on the phone several times) and should have been clear in your directions. This is unacceptable. She called me so frustrated because there is no such Queen street east address and she had to then drive across the city to go to the other location, which took a good hour extra. When she FINALLY got there, there was NO One at the office!! It was closed!! If you send a customer to drive all across the city (which is already annoying), shouldn't you at least verify that the office you are sending them to is open?!? She had to call the assistance number displayed on the office and BEGGED and was almost in tears because we really needed this van and NO ONE was helping us. Finally, she was able to get the information to pick up a key in a box and go get a van herself, with nobody around to help at ANY stage. I think this is also unacceptable and a very bad impression of your company. So, not only did we not have our van as planned, but we were sent to a WRONG address, and when we finally got to the right one, NO ONE was there to help. This delayed us immensely in our move and it seemed like no one wanted or cared to help throughout

I had to wait in line for 45 minuets to get to the person attending to customers after which i was told the 10” truck that i had booked a week in advance was not available. I was told i can take either a 9’ van or 15’ truck, neither of the two would have worked as my drive way won’t be able to accommodate 15’ truck and 9’ van won’t be enough to accommodate all my stuff. After waiting for another 45 minutes and trying to get the 10’ truck from another location we noticed there was a 10’ truck out in the lot. When we enquired we were told it is booked for out of city move in few hours. I don’t understand why i was made to wait around 1.5 hrs when there was a truck available??? I insisted on getting what i had booked and got it after good 1.5 hrs..i had also booked two dolly’s that were not made available instead i was given appliance dolly whicjh was dirty and i have dirt all over my furniture. This has been a terrible experience. Between all of this i had my elevator booked in my building between 10:30 and 12 pm to which I couldn’t make on time and had to move my stuff alongside elevators booked for residents. This has been a very embarrassing and horrible experience.

I had terrible experience saturday 2/24/2018 with my reservation for 9" cargo. I make this short and straight to point cause i wasted enough dealing with uhaul franchisees yesterday. I had tight moving deadlines and i hows set back almost 2 hours because of poor management and broken processes in your operation. Summary of events: I Booked my reservation on Monday, February 19th, 2018 (9" Cargo Van). The reservation was for Saturday February 24, 2018 at 1:45 pm (order 23186957) The location was 177 Carleton street which is 9 minutes from where I live. I showed up on the day in question 45 minutes early (1pm), and told that they need contact another location to bring back one of their trucks. When they get a hold of the other location a dispute takes place which results in them informing me they have no vehicules. As per your " Rental Advisements" , Uhaul agrees to contact the customer a day prior to pick up to finalize time, place and equipment size. Nobody called the day before and no one at the location had an explanation (other than blaming Head Office). Then they scramble around trying to a new location that can honor my reservation. Almost one hour passes by and they advise me that i have to make my way to another location (which is much further than my destination) to pick up a truck. They guaranteed me a 50$ refund and that my expenses to get to this location would be covered. I was not driving, so I had to spend 22$ to cab to a much further location to get a truck (Uhaul 1668 Queen strest west) Which Also meant when returning my rental i had to use more Mileage than planned which was more costly. I was told that all this would be deducted from my total charges for the rental. My credit card was charged $95.72 No 50$ refund Guarantee No refund for my 22$ cab ride to the new location. And on top of this I'm getting charged an EZ Fuel charge stating that I didn't bring it back with the right amount of fuel. WHICH IS INACURATE. I want my 50$ refund in 3 business days. I also want to be refunded for the 22$ cab ride i had to take to the new location because my reservation was booked by your franchisee without confirming a truck was actually available. I wan the EZ fuel charge of 8.64$ refunded. This makes a total of 80.64$ to refunded in 3 business days to same card that charged. If you require receipts for my cab rider or anything else contact me. You guy's need to keep a closer eye on these franchises before they completly destroy what's left of Uhaul's reputation. I had to waste more of my valuable time to write this email.

Hours for this location were different than listed online. Really long, frustrating, and confusing check-in process that assumes you'd have a smartphone and data plan available to browse Uhaul email and very crappy website for nearly 20 minutes in the freezing cold. Taking photos of myself, and having to provide extra emergency contact information to you felt invasive. The actual trailer at this location that is meant to be the "office" seems very poorly maintained, is dirty, falling apart, not shovelled or salted, trash and dollies and uhaul equipment scattered all over the lot and leaned against the vehicles. Lot itself was like a mud pit. Keys to every vehicle on the lot were in my lockbox - anyone could take any vehicle they wanted it seemed, looked especially un-secure to me. Didn't make me feel confident leaving my keys behind when returning the van. Really not happy at all with the lack of service I received with this rental.

The vehicle was saturated with a very strong, unpleasant odour. Before i left the parking lot, I called the agent to alert him to this so I would not be held responsible for this. He replied, not sounding surprised, “Oh, that’s the homeless...sometimes they sleep in the vehicles” I was dumbfounded by his reply, and with no apology or any offer of a remedy to the situation. I had no choice but to use the vehicle that was assigned to me because no one was onsite to provide me with a different vehicle. In spite of driving around with the windows open, the strong odour remained. It saturated our clothes and the chesterfield that we had rented the van to move. Since you asked, I am very very very unhappy. The ball is in your court. What are you going to do?

Requested a larger truck from head office for 3+ bedroom house and when i got yo yhe loaction they gave me a 15 footer which is pretty much half of what I needed. Had to do the move in 2 runs delay the whole process by at least 3 hours as well as double the millage so you made more money and I paid more. When you say 3+ that should automatically mean the largerst truck. Not sure why head office has to low ball the truck and try to sell people something that they didn't want. Obviously the morning of a move is too late to look else where for trucks.
