On 6/27 my original pick up date I did not get a truck. I had to move my date to 6/30. I had to wait an hour today figure out where the truck was located because I was given the wrong information. This was the worst moving experience EVER!! I did not receive my $50 , although I could not get a truck on 6/27 , that was reserved in advanced.
Get the correct address for the rental location being picked up so the trouble of traveling to another uhaul location to get gps to clear. Make sure lock box and code are correct. When the above fails and it's after hours, a customer care line that addresses the problem and does not place the call on hold for 60 minutes then sending you back to original menu (1st call) or put you on hold for 90 minutes (2nd call) until a different customer agent answers and start over again. Just not impressed with the service locally or corporate with uhaul.
My reservation was for 5:30AM. The location they keep the trucks at is not the same location for the address so in order to check in online I had to drive to that location which was across town just so my GPS would register that I was at that address. Then had to drive back across town where they keep the trucks to finish the check in. We had to drive to and from that location 4 times before everything went through. Once we finally got checked in and it was the step to get my key the code for the lock box did not work. They gave me the code for box 2 but my key was in box 1. I stayed on the phone for over a hour that morning trying to get the correct code. I called U-Haul over 10 times that morning. They would either hang up on me or transfer me elsewhere the only reason I did not leave is because they already charged me for the rental. Finally I got a lady on the phone who went above and beyond to help me get the correct code and she didn't hang up on me like the rest of them. I finally got my key at 7:30. I will never use Uhaul at this location on online again. I was not offered and refund or extension on my rental.
To start they have the wrong address to return the equipment. Second I rented the equipment at almost noon but was required to have it back by 11 the next day. Is that a whole day? Idk. According to you it is. Third. Having to have internet for location when returning after hours is dumb as fuck. You first send me to the wrong address and then expect me to use my internet and time to make an account and that's for your god damn convenience not mine. Shouldn't I be paid for my internet and time for such a shitty policy. Idk. According to you I must be. This was surely the most frustrating experience I've had. It's tough enough moving but you all add to the aggregation and then threaten your customers with a convenience fee for not returning the equipment through your stupid ass web site. Outside that the equipment was in good shape and good priced.
No one at location spent he trying to find someone,call another number,you were suppose to come to this location.That was time list no compensation they care less.
Address is grossly incorrect! Troy self storage is on US highway 231, nowhere near 409 Walnut Street!

Has always been, and hopefully will continue to be, a good place to do business. I would recommend a remodeling of the customer service area. As it is now, if there are two customers being served at the same time, they are forced to try to carry on their business by speaking through the same "speaker hole" in a glass partition. It would be so much better and confidential to have the two rental agents located in a cubicles so customers could sit down face to face and carry on business. One more thing. A ventilation system to control the odor of cigarette smoke would definitely be a plus. The fumes are overwhelming.
Simply dropped off truck and trailer. Easy process.
The ladies in the office were not very friendly and the Truck had dirt all on the back and smelled like cigarette smoke.

This address is not a valid drop off location. There are no offices there and the location is gated. It is only storage units owned by the other location in town where you do the actual drop off. I mentioned this to the person who checked the truck back in and other than saying that yes, that location belonged to them, they didn't seem to care that I drove all over creation, trying to return the truck. I paid $179 for the truck for one day and 60 miles of use. The paper contract said that additional days would cost me $40 per day, extra, .40 per mile over 60 miles. Instead, I got charged an additional $130+. Where was this written up in my contract? Frankly, in the future, I believe I will go back to Penske. I wouldn't have needed the additional day, because it would have been in my contract, so I wouldn't have had to go over on my time. As a military member who always moves my families belongings, it's these stupid little things that people make mental notes of as reason to not come back.

Battery was about dead on the truck and it was dirty.
Next time somebody is moving from state to state you should let them get the newest model available ..I had the oldest truck I seen out there and it had check engine lights on and all! The first truck i was assigned had no gas cap..I wouldn't recommend uhaul to any of my close friends or family !
The address provided on my confirmation was the Uhaul storage until facility, NOT the rental pickup point. This required I drive across town. The POC at the pick up location had to transfer the truck and dolly, which took 20 mins. She became frustrated then started messing up. She stated our truck was in the front, which it wasn't. Another employee helped us look for the truck, which required us to be carted over to another area.

The address we were given via text message by uhaul once we confirmed rental was not correct info. The telephone number provided was also not correct. We tried to call 2 times before we left to go pickup the trailer. After driving 30 minutes to Troy we went to Walnut St location and the gate was closed needed a code but it was just a self storage bldg. There was a uhaul advertising sign hung up on fence but no actual uhauls there. I tried to contact the phone number on the gate several times and no one answered. I then called uhaul after sitting there for over 20 minutes trying to reach someone. I called 1800 go uhaul and spoke to Bill he had to put me on hold for 15 minutes so he could try to find someone that could help. My son had an appt and had to be taken to a family members house so they could take him since it had been 2 hrs and still no trailer. After driving another 30 minutes to drop him off I had to turn around and go back to Troy. Bill at uhaul had given me a different phone number to call. I called and got directions. I ended up using a half tank gas (I drive a hummer) and didnt get the trailer til a few hrs past my reservation time. Once I arrived at the correct location I tried to show thr ofc asst that the address was incorrect but she said she didnt need to see it. They were friendly but I wanted to ask them what the issue was. No one answered me ever. We loved the uhaul however and it towed really well. The drop off location was much easier to find. The gentleman that assisted me was wonderful and very helpful. I am glad that you offer the reservation gurantee and I think it was really nice that Bob your customer service staff member told me about the refund because we had such an issue at pickup location. I look forward to hearing back from you and receiving my $50 refund. We will use uhaul in the future as long as this kind of issue doesnt happen again.
Educate the people handling reservations. Didn't even have towing accesories. Place smelled terrible. Good thing I am familiar with towing people didn't even know what a hitch was, a 14 year boy was sent out with me to pretend like he knew how to hook up the trailer. Took almost an hour for them to print the paperwork. Even better is the fact that 3-4 miles down the road is a big U-haul center. Not impressed.
