Uhaul corporate is zero help! You’re better offwith Budget or another truck rental. Equipment is in better shape and the representatives are much nicer and more helpful. Five days later, still waiting on that call from manager, “Mr. Willie”...

Usually this site is very helpful and I have rented from them a good bit over the years. However, I dropped my trailer off within 5 to 6 hours if not less time than that and it was not logged in. I parked it in front of the building where you could not miss it and it still was not taken care of. I paid for the trailer and did what I was suppose to do and then get an email saying I was late turning in my trailer. I don’t like getting late notices when I have done what I was suppose to do...and early at that. Not happy about somebody else not doing their job and me paying for it. I am not happy about this experience at all.

When we arrived, they did not know we were coming supposedly even though I had filled out the forms online. I had requested the moving furniture blankets, but they did not have any. The whole place reeked of cigarette smoke. We asked the woman questions about the trailer and she could not answer. They assigned us a trailer, which we had to drive to a secondary location to get. Our assigned trailer was behind three other trailers, so we had to personally hook up to the other trailers and move them to be able to access our assigned trailer, and then the lights did not work properly.

I highly recommend you guys get better on communicating to your customers about drop off locations. I was given TWO completely different locations to drop off my truck, but NEITHER actually led to a U-Haul drop off location. The addresses I was sent to by you guys led to non-existent locations. It wasn’t until we called corporate and requested the location be changed to a drop off point we were familiar with that we were able to drop off the truck with no problems. That was completely ridiculous and caused us to use more mileage on the truck than we should have, which I was charged for and am sure I won’t be reimbursed for.

Well the Walnut St location needs to be clarified bc my advance reservation directed me to a location that had no Uhauls. Not only that, but I called and called the week before and never got a human. My brother knew of this location so we went there and everything went perfect however we tried to advance reserve at this location and did so but when the reservation came in it had the Birmingham ofc staying “not all trailers are available at this location “. Which is Baloney bc they had numerous trailers. When I called Birmingham to clarify a girl w too much food in her mouth (very rude) and never understood what I was trying to clarify just saying I’d receive the final info the day before. I couldn’t leave this to chance and so called the Birmingham ofc later hoping to get a less hungry -clear mouthed employee. She immediately text out Walnut St confirmation. I told her that I wanted 231. And she said “they must not have trailers”. We drove by Walnut St self storage the night prior and did not see trailers or an office. So we just showed up at the 231 location and they were great. But the whole process w advance reservations on the computer was stressful.

I normally have great service with Uhaul but this time I was very disappointed with the drop off service. I gave the location of where I wanted to drop off and the wrong location was entered. When I caught this and called to fix it, I was told it would be changed. I was called a day later asking where my truck was. The truck was dropped off the same day it was rented and the key was left in drop box. The staff failed to check drop box, which I don't understand bc that should be checked everyday since it is by the front door. After going around they FINALLY got my truck checked in 2 days later. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND checking your drop off location several times before leaving with truck.

The trailer lost its lights so I had to purchase battery operated lights and attach to back of trailer. Also during transit......the back door came open even though I had a lock on it and I lost furniture. Did not know this until I stopped for gas. A man had to assist me in getting the roll up door down....extremely difficult. It took him 20 minutes. When I dropped it off the gentleman gave me paperwork to file a claim.

I was suppose to receive a appliance dolly with my uhaul and it wasn't on there causing me to spend $55 at Walmart for one

Avoid this facility at all costs! They said the lot was full & wouldn’t accept our equipment, sent us 8 miles to another location that wasn’t staffed and didn’t have a Dropbox. 1800 uhaul number sent us back to them & after an hour of trying we finally got our truck & transport turned in.very poor customer service!

The agent was not clear of my intentions even though I made a reservation.I had to assist the agent in hitching the trailer I rented because she was unable to do so alone. Eventually, two men stopped by to assist. On return, I had to ask if someone would be unhitching the trailer and then I was asked if I could 'back the trailer for them' to another location on the lot? I was unaware when I made the reservation it was a "self-service" and would encourage better training and staffing. The two ladies were not as knowledgeable as expected and did not appear to have interest in the 'customer service' aspect. Also, upon arrival, the office was consumed with cigarette smoke and one agent (on her cell). There was a customer's check on the counter and when I alerted the agent, her response was "OK". I could have (as well as anyone else) had all that customer's personal info from that check-including the bank account info, name, address, etc.. Just Careless!!! ??????????

Since we needed to be able to pick up the truck after hours, I was told I had to do this on line and it was "easy". We arrived with our loading help at 6:30 pm and were unable to get the online "easy" check in to work. We had to then wait until 9am the NEXT morning and go to the pickup point again and spend another 30 minutes to pick up the truck. This cost us time and money since we were paying loading help. Very inefficient and extremely costly and inconvenient. Not appreciated at all. The online app just kept going back to the "continue" page and would not proceed to the actual pickup process. DO NOT RECOMMEND EVER!!!!!!!

The location set up for drop off was an unstaffed storage location even thou the website said they did not close until 5. Called the other uhaul listed location, A&B storage which was just around the corner. Took trailer there for a very quick inspection then had to return to the original location to drop the trailer off unassisted. All of this would not have been a problem if instructions were provided up front but spent a good bit of time looking for attendant at the scheduled drop off and it seems the staff from the correct A&B location should have come to me to inspect and supervise where and how the trailer was dropped.

Ever thing good with drop service..not good with uhaul part that takes orders over phone had to talk to 3 different people...for one would get disconnected and not call back. So I had to keep calling..3 times ...then I told them luverne pick up went there to get truck Friday they was closed .so I called you and they said yes it's closed.. and then one told me there was no order for ...then I found out it was in Troy where I was suppose to get truck...so I had to go clear to Troy and get truck on Saturday when I wanted it Friday...just a big mess on Friday... I did get truck on Saturday morning...

COMMENT: On 4 Aug 2018, the U-Haul employee at A & B Self Storage in Troy Alabama (drop off location) would not perform a vehicle inspection on the rental truck when I specifically asked her to inspect the vehicle with me twice. Her response was "you have nothing to worry about, I promise, as long as the fuel is the same amount you started with." I told her the fuel was a little more then what I stared with (7/16 of a tank), that I had just added fuel before dropping the rental truck off. I also mentioned to her that I parked the rental vehicle at the bottom of the U-Haul parking lot on a steppe decline since there was no where else to park. I told her that the rental vehicle fuel gauge would read a little low while the vehicle was parked on the steppe decline, but once the vehicle was parked on a flat surface the fuel gauge would read a little over 7/16 fuel. She said "I promise you have nothing to worry about, I'll email you a copy of the receipt." At this point she proceeded to the next customer. It was very obvious that she had no intention of inspecting the rental vehicle, and was getting agitated when I asked her a second time to inspect the vehicle. On 4 Aug 2018, I was sent an email with a receipt from A & B Self storage LLC, charging my credit $29.75 for fuel. Had the employee inspected the vehicle upon my request, there would not be a dispute concerning the fuel quantity. I have a fuel receipt dated 2 Aug 2018 for $45.02 of fuel that I put in the rental vehicle before I left for Troy Alabama. I also have another fuel receipt dated 4 Aug 2018 for $5.34 of fuel that I put in the rental vehicle just before I turned the vehicle in. The gas station was approximately 1 mile away from the drop off location. WHAT CAN BE DONE FOR IMPROVEMENT: Ensure that U-Haul employees performs vehicle inspection with customer when customer request it. This should help prevent future disputes.

I was very disappointed in the fact that when my pick up time changed I was not given the furniture pads I had requested. I requested them not only during my intial reservation but emailed about them when my time was changed. I’m very disappointed in this. And would not recommend anyone using the app to check in or change an order because it crashes and does not give you what you’ve been promised through the order.

The ladies were nice, but seemed very unorganized. There were personal items left in the truck when I picked it up. Also, why offer appointment times if LITERALLY 4 other people have the same 9:00am appointment???? That's a hassle for everyone. Use reservation software and stagger in 15 minute increments. That way people aren't upset that their reservation time still becomes a "First come, first serve".
