The box to drop off the key was not closing properly.


Picked up the truck at 5:44 PM ET and returned the truck the following day at 5:48 PM ET. I was charged for two days. Upon picking up the truck there was no discussion about additional charges but was charged a $28 Safe Travel Coverage that I would have declined had I been offered the coverage.

1) The front of the building did not have directions indicating where the parking lot was. Alternatively those directions could be in the app but I think it would be much better if they were also on the building. 2) The app sent me to their old address for the keys. That needs to be updated. 3) When checking the truck back in it was not clear whether the keys should be placed back in the lock box or in the drop box. Perhaps it doesn't matter but I couldn't retrieve the directions from the app to confirm that. 4) It took an incredibly long time to get anyone from customer service to respond on the phone. 5) The app would be better if it let you enter your location if you are having problems with location services. My location services were on. The problem is that they were disabled for the Safari web browser. It took me time to figure this out. 6) It was very hard to find the entrance to the parking lot where the truck was located. 7) It was difficult to figure out where I was supposed to park the truck after.

The pick up location was dirty and there was no one working to help me pick up my rental when I first arrived. I had to wait 15 minutes for the person to arrive in order to check me in and give me the van. When I received the van, it was very dirty.

This branch of uHaul engages in deceptive practices. The standard Uhaul Truck rental contract provided to me by email on my cell phone is illegible. It stipulates that the gas tank is at least 3/4 full and the renter is charged for anything less than that upon return of the truck. I was never told anything about the gas gauge, as I have been at all other vehicle rental agencies. When I received the truck, the gauge was at 5/8. Let me repeat, the contract was illegible on my cell Phone. I did not have my laptop in the truck. Before returning the truck , I purchased enough fuel to bring the gauge well beyond 5/8. However, I was charged over $15 for the gas “shortage”. The truck was returned with more gas in the tank than at departure. This is a deceptive practice. I will never rent a uhaul again from this agency.

The guy was too busy running all his other side businesses at the uhaul location. He sent the receipt hours later via email. He basically said leave the truck there, I'll email you a receipt. He never documented the 2 Dolly's that were returned on the receipt. When I emailed him about it, he never responded. It's run like a mom and pop organization. I will never use this location again. I will elsewhere even if I have to travel further to return equipment

The service was just okay. Equipment that I ordered ahead of time (ten days) was not even available on the day of pickup, even though I had already paid. Location is difficult to find, and the "contactless" check-in did not work.

The parking lot isn't actually accessible from rental office. I attempted to do a contactless rental because of the COVID-19 pandemic but because the parking lot is so far away from the office site the GPS locator didn't pick up the correct address. I had to knock on the door of the office, which appears to be an apartment, not a commercial business location to find somebody to help me.

Nothing is easy during the health pandemic, so it's hard to provide a true rating (in comparison to typical services). I would note that it would appear better communication between customer rep (who took order on the phone) and office location is warrante, eg, rental of dolly, rental window.

The guy who operates this location is complete trash. Please re-evaluate this owner. He is grumpy, mean, nasty for no reason except that you are a customer. This is the type of person that is mad that you even came.

The man who helped us was beyond nice. However this was one of the worst experiences I've ever had with uhaul. Our truck was not available, only 10 foot trucks were. Luckily we had an in town move, but that meant we and our movers had to load the truck three times and drive it back and forth. None of the supplies we had requested were available, save for one dolly and some blankets. The manager at the location said some customer hadn't brought back the truck we had reserved and some other customers had just cleaned him out of supplies. I had also tried to reserve with expedited mobile pickup but the rep there LABORIOUSLY insisted checking us out by hand. When I said we had to go, we were late for our movers he just ignored us and continued clicking around on his computer. Why was someone else allowed to pick up supplies they hadn't reserved? Why didn't the location let us know our truck wasn't available or suggest another location we could pick up the right truck at? What if we had planned a move between cities or states? We would have been completely screwed. I know inventory can't be perfect, but it was glaringly obvious how NOT dynamic or real-time the system was. I felt completely let down. So if I can't afford a more costly moving service I just have to deal with what leftovers you MIGHT have?I've been using uhaul for over ten years, moving once every two-to-three years. This will be the last time. I'm so sad.
