did express check in. still had to wait 45 minutes listening to clerk talk in different language. asked if i wanted insurance said NO and he put it on and couldn't leave unil I had to call customer service. Truck was not road ready. Still had a huge slab of snow and ice on windshield that i had to remove. Return took 30 minutes again listening to clerk talk on phone because he did know what he was doing.

This may have been the worst experience of rental operation I've ever dealt with. The person behind the counter was talking on the phone, trying to deal with another customer, sell gasoline, drinks and run a filling station. Finally after 20 min. he stepped out of the door 10', I pointed out my truck his trailer, he said take it, no papers or help.

Horrible customer service, had no idea what they were doing and how to return the equipment. Took one hour to return the truck. Unacceptable!

internet reservation was made in the morning . When picking up the rental the cassier didn't know that there was a truck rented to us. Even when we showed the conformation email. many phonecalls later from the cassier to th e owner and some, the phone got handed over to me and we had to went to the whole rental procedure again. And pay in advange while all was done over internet already with CC. After bringing back the rental a different person was there and then we had some discussion about the used millage. Because i had made pictures before and after we could prove the right driven millage. Still waiting on the money of to much paid miles to get back.

I reserved a 26 ft truck for 730 in norwich ct. They called and told me I had to go to wauregan ct which is 45 min from me . And I bet there and they only had a 18 ft truck. After 12 hours of moving and 10 trips we r still not done moving. So not happy. We also had to use all people's truck to.move. I called to talk with someone but got know answer

I have always used uhaul in the past and was actually debating on using Penske this time but ultimately decided to go with uhaul because I know and trust the company - or so I thought- the man I picked the uhaul up from could not speak any English and did not know how to complete the transaction he called the company and had to give me the phone to check in with them. I ordered a 17 ' which the website said was available and I got a 15'. I also ordered a dolly which was suppose to be in the truck and was not. On top of this while I was moving someone commented to me on the price - the company actually chose the packages for me to pick after I put in my credentials, so once they realized I was only going about 20 miles they gave me a choice of 79.99 which totaled to be 118. If I would of chose the 29.95 plus mileage option it would of came out to be about 70$. But uhaul knew this which is why they did not offer this to me as an option while I was ordering. I feel like uhaul completely deceived me and got over on me. I can't believe this company has been around for so many years leading customers to believe they are a trusted American company and that is far from the truth.

The reservation process was a bit confusing. Did not know where to press for rental agreement and user manual via ipad. I also just received a message for a second reservation, which I feel may be a result of confusing process. Please make sure I don't get charged twice.

Really seedy part of Plainfield area, in Wauregan. Gas station /shop is dingy, parking lot is filthy. The only plus was that they man behind the counter was friendly, and helpful.

I was very perturbed and disappointed. I originally reserved, or so I thought, a simple cargo van from the nearby location in Brooklyn, Conn., Brooklyn Motor Sports. I did this late in the evening. When I woke up on the day of the rental, I found that my pick-up was actually to be from Columbia, Conn., 30 miles away and in the other direction from which I meant to travel. I ended up having to rent a 15' ft truck from this Wauregan location, which at least was closer by. Either way meant that I would spend about double what I was originally led to believe -- had I been able to rent the van from the Brooklyn location, which was "confirmed". The whole thing has the unpleasant scent of "bait and switch", and I am still of a mind to complain to the Better Business Bureau. That said, the service I did ultimately receive was adequate, the vehicle was in good condition, and the cost was tolerable, although, as I say, about twice what I had originally planned for. Typically, "the software" was blamed, as if to exonerate any individual from this problem.
