Testimonials from recent customers of Micks Auto Repair
While the personnel was helpful, the workers present did not know what needed to be done to return the truck. The worker who did know had left, so I wasn't sure if I had even given them the correct information to finish the drop off.
The location was not clean nor was it inviting. Proprieter seemed to have a poor internet/computer connection.
Insure the responsible party cleans the uhaul (inside the front of uhaul) before returning it.
Agent was very professional and helpful in explaining thy e rental. Very well pleased.
I didn't drop off; my daughter did it and said she was unnerved by a couple of men standing around (in the garage maybe?) I'm not sure if they were employees or just people who live nearby. If they were employees, a uniform or a friendly "hi, can I help in any way?" would have made her feel better.
Customer service was great However, the physical location was not well kept.
This location is a bit "rough" in appearance, but is in a good geographical location for our needs. The proprietor did not contact us as he said he would after we returned the truck and called him. The remainder of the experience was positive.
This place was a dump. It is an old garage with broken crap everywhere, it looked like a junk yard. The staff was nice and helpful but I would never choose to go back there again.
Wow! A trip back into the 1950's.
FIND A BETTER NEIGHBORHOOD. UNABLE TO PICK-UP WHERE ORIGINALLY WANTED TO PICK-UP VEHICLE.
CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS BETTER THAN I HAD EXPECTED. MICK WAS VERY GRACIOUS AND HELPFUL.

Location is a complete dump. Signage makes difficult to find. Staff were "in the house" for over 15 minutes while we stood outside waiting for assistance. Apparently only a single person can check in returned vehicles. The location is basically an automotive repair shop and is typically dingy and grungy. Inside, the manager's office is disgusting, crowded and there was no place for me to sit while he went thru the check-in process. Throughout the ordeal, he often stepped away to continue working on a vehicle in the bay, making me stand around and wait. According to my father, who has lived in Alton all his life, the other Alton location (not East-Alton) is much cleaner and more professional.
Did get charged for 10 miles over the limit which I think is unfair since I had to drive 20 miles round trip out of my way to pick up the rental when the first pick up location waited until just before I arrived to let UHaul know the equipment had not been returned and I did not have a truck to pick up. Regardless, Micks Auto Repair was very courteous and helpful during the dropoff process.
The truck we was beat up(ran well), but the owner of the shop stepped up because the truck they were expecting did not show on time so they got a truck from another location.
Totaly happy with the way I was treated.
The manager was very freindly but the location is not easy to find and it is dirty. Disappointing.
The U-Haul Store in Alton is excellent. I was very disappointed to have to go to this dirty, messy place....although the man was nice enough.....the facilities are terrible.
