  • Chris and his helper loaded our 28-ft ABF trailer for our move to WI. Chris was friendly and clearly a very hard worker, but the way the trailer was packed caused significant damage. When it arrived, items had shifted so badly against the bulkheads that things were literally falling out as we removed them. We offered 20 brand-new straps for securing the load, but none were used. The last third of the trailer appeared rushed, with heavy items stacked on top while large empty spaces below were left unfilled. As a result, our outdoor storage cabinet collapsed after hundreds of pounds of boxes and an e-bike were stacked on it, and an office desk and storage stand were completely destroyed after being placed on the bottom with heavy boxes on top. Those three items alone were worth about $1,000, and much of our other furniture has minor damage. Based on our experience, I wouldn’t recommend them for long-distance moves.

Thank you Kristen, for hiring us to load your trailer. I'm very sorry that this happened to your furniture. I've been doing this for 20 years and I have never seen furniture come apart like yours did. I showed you everything we were doing, every step of the way. You had so much stuff that we were literally completely full to the end of the trailer that I had to pack things very high at the end in order to get the bulkhead walls up. You said you were okay with that, because you wanted those things to go and didn't want to leave them behind. Again I'm sorry for what happened with the furniture. Even if we strapped it, that probably would have happened. You are traveling 2000 miles, I can't control how hard a truck breaks or starts. Once we load it, we're not responsible for what happens to it in transit. That's why it's always a good idea to get insurance through the transport company. We do the best we can, and we will continue to practice to do better. God Bless-Chris
