Extremely Disappointed – Poor Planning and Execution I scheduled a move involving 5 U-boxes filled with household furniture, clothing, and decor. I clearly communicated via email that the delivery and unloading would include large items like a sofa, dining table with chairs, and three queen beds with frames — including an iron canopy and an adjustable bed frame with a wooden headboard and footboard that required assembly. Despite this, the company sent only one mover to handle the entire job. One person to unload and assemble furniture from FIVE boxes? Completely unacceptable and unsafe. The mover did their best, but it was obvious from the start that this was a job for a team — not a solo worker. This lack of preparation caused major delays and unnecessary stress. The move ended up taking over 11 hours because the mover had to deliver and unload one U-box at a time, then drive 12 miles back to the U-Haul storage facility to retrieve the next box — repeating this process five times.

As we already explained to you during your service, U-box jobs does not have a mandated crew size. The number of boxes does not determine how many workers are sent out to complete a job. Nothing about your job required multiple people to complete as you did not have any overdized items or stairs involved in your move. Sending another person on your job would not have shortened the length of your job because the time accumulated on your job was due to traveling 26 miles (13 miles each way with each box) 2 of the trips took place during evening rush hour traffic. If you have an issue with the time it took you should direct your complaints to u-haul for scheduling your boxes at the location in New Orleans East instead of the U-haul locations on Westbank expressway on Tulane avenue which would have saved travel time.
