  • They showed up to unload a 16 foot POD without any equipment (no utility dollies, furniture dollies, etc.). When I asked Damien about it his response was 'u-haul wants you to rent everything from them'. It is not my job to provide the equipment to a moving company that I’m already paying to help unload & move my stuff. Although he 'did me a favor' & didn’t charge me for the two items he deemed as heavy (a normal dresser and buffet), which I'm sure seemed heavy because they used straps to move them rather than a furniture dolly. He also 'did me a favor' & didn’t charge me for having to walk over 50 feet. When I asked why this information wasn’t available when I made the reservation, he showed me a site that was very different from what was available when I booked them (I double checked before leaving this review). It says 'travel fees may apply' i.e., driving to & from the location, not how far you may need to walk. Be aware, they may deem anything 'heavy' & want u to provide equipment.

    Hi Alicia, Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry the experience did not meet your expectations and want to clarify. We are a labor-only moving service. We provide manpower while equipment like dollies is rented through U-Haul. We offer dollies as a courtesy when available but all were already in use on jobs booked before yours. We adjusted our schedule to fit you in last minute and completed the job the next day. Your POD was over 100 feet from the entrance and the move involved stairs to the second floor. You said a prior crew needed a piano dolly for the dresser and buffet which shows the difficulty. Despite this we waived all heavy item and long walk fees as a courtesy. We stand by our teams professionalism and wish you the best in your new home.
