  • Reserved 3 hours for load and unload. Upon loading I was informed that was only a promotional rate online and he didn’t care about what was booked in advance. Ended up having to pay more money just to get them to unload the truck they loaded. In total, it cost more than 2x the amount reserved initially. This should’ve been communicated when he first called to confirm the reservation and I stated it was for loading and unloading.

  • When they got there they asked if they were loading and unloading and I said yes. About an hour later I said to one of the movers that if we needed to go to the second location to start unloading I could get the rest of the items in the storage unit myself, but he said it was fine they’d have time for it all. After the loaded my truck (1.5 hours into a 3 hour reservation) the lead guy said they would only unload my items if I agreed to pay them double. I refused and tried calling U-Haul but couldn’t get in touch. The main guy kept saying to me ‘we aren’t crackheads, we don’t work for free’. Inevitable I didn’t want to keep going back and forth so I just conceded and gave them my payment code. When I went to unpack the truck myself, the truck was a mess and several boxes were damaged and items broken.
