On May 9, 2026, Bernard McCarthy Enterprises loaded my U-Haul for a 950-mile move. Upon arrival, nearly every piece of furniture was damaged. One pack of moving blankets I provided was never opened, photographed in the package before unloading. The majority of furniture was loaded with no blanket protection, causing extensive scuffing, a broken desk leg, deep grooves on custom built chairs, an irreplaceable handmade bench damaged beyond repair, wood and paint rubbed away on two large bookshelves, a permanently stained fabric bench, a torn recliner, and a non-functioning TV. A professional mover with 9 years experience who unloaded the truck provided a formal written statement documenting five specific loading errors and the damage they witnessed while unloading the truck. Bernard’s response to my dispute was that my request was unreasonable and he didn’t cause the damage. I was unable to obtain a refund for services or any compensation for the damage.
