Moving Helpers are individuals or small businesses who offer their labor services on our Marketplace, many of which specialize in loading and unloading U-Haul truck rentals and U-Box® containers.
Terrible experience. The movers did not speak English, and did not move the heavy items. We hired moving help to move furniture. The 1 man did assist in moving the furniture, however, the female who was hired at the same time, did not. She moved only boxes and my family did the heavy lifting. I will be filing a complaint as well as this review.
The first company I booked never scheduled with me so U-Haul customer service helped me switched to this company.. the representative from the company reached out fairly quickly. Very nice and polite. They arrived when stated. Not uniformed and they bought a baby with them during the move - that was all over the place. On a scale of 1-10.. they were a 5. Needed a bed put together.. they were standing around trying to figure it out. If it’s simple- they could assemble, but it’s it a little complicated- I don’t recommend. I needed laborers and they got me moved on the second floor. Which I needed. They followed up to get me scheduled and I was able to get moved.
I booked two people for two hours. One of the helpers was pretty good minus dropping a heavy box on my fragile box. The other guy wasn’t very helpful. He struggled with the bulky furniture and I ended up helping carry some of it up the stairs. Both of them carried my entertainment center upside down and ended up scratching the top surface from dragging it on the ground. It was clear that these helpers did not understand basic moving concepts. Because we assisted with the unloading we had the truck empty within one hour. I would not use the help again. From the communication stand point the company was great. Very responsive and clear.
