Moving Helpers are individuals or small businesses who offer their labor services on our Marketplace, many of which specialize in loading and unloading U-Haul truck rentals and U-Box® containers.
It took an hour and a half to load very few items. Once we got to the storage unit I was informed we only had 20 minutes to unload and they had other jobs. We agreed to meet back up the next day at 7 am to unload and then they changed it to 8 and then they didn’t show up. I had to go to the Home Depot and pick up some day workers. I like to support small businesses, cheap rates is not always the best way.
The movers were rushed from start to finish. We ended up having to pay for additional time. Towards the end, they were just shoving the furniture and boxes in with little to no care. When we arrived at our destination and began unloading the truck, we discovered extensive damage to many pieces of furniture. We called Thompson Relocations and explained the situation and sent them photos documenting the damage from careless handling of the furniture and loading of the truck. They said they would get back to us in the next few days. It has been two weeks now and we have heard nothing further. I would not recommend this company.
They did an overall excellent job, despite the far from simple layout of our apartment complex. They emptied in two hours 2 Uhaul pods. Nothing broken or lost, all where we asked, making the rest quite easy. And they were polite and nice. Will recommend.
