  Movers kept open lines of communication, were flexible with scheduling time, and were friendly; moved several large, heavy furniture items downstairs. However, the dolly they used to go up and down the stairs was extremely noisy, disturbing the neighbors; better control of the dolly will help reduce noise and keep items from breaking. We also needed to remind them a few times about some of our preferences for loading the U-Boxes (e.g., pack couch vertically to protect it and save space) and decided to finish packing the last 10 percent of items ourselves. In conclusion, the job was completed in a timely manner, but a gentler, quieter, moving experience is an opportunity for improvement.

  Pros - Movers were friendly, flexible (shifted times around to accommodate a fluid schedule), and kept open lines of communication. Cons - They broke my computer desk (beyond repair) and did not take ownership of it. They lifted from the top even though one end had an attached cabinet underneath - it should have been lifted from the bottom. I informed them ahead of time that there was a medium-sized desk, still assembled, and it was wrapped to keep the drawers from opening, but they removed that for some reason. They also left several scuffs on the ceiling of the entryway as well as the walls leading up the stairs. They did apologize for those, at least, and provided a small refund. Other things I noticed included placing a 90lb dumbbell set on a small, light cabinet (the dumbbells should be left on the ground as they were in the shipping containers) and very obviously knocking a small bedframe support off without so much as an apology. Conclusion - Room for improvement.
