• The movers got jammed up in traffic and showed up about an hour and a half late. But once they got there, they were pleasant, helpful, and got the furniture loaded ASAP. They only had to load one dining room, China hutch that was in two pieces into a waiting van There were no stairs involved and when they got to the destination, which was about 35 minutes later and had to unload it again it was two pieces of a single piece of furniture. I’m not tipping them because I got paid $100 for about 15 minutes of work twice. Once when they picked up the furniture and put it in the van, and then they got paid again, taking it out of the van and putting it in the garage of the house. That was an easy $200. But these movers are like other U-Haul movers I’ve used in the past. Professional competent, and pleasant.

• Unfortunately, our experience ended very poorly. Before loading began, my mother raised concerns about how the truck was being arranged and asked that the TV and mirror be placed on the upper shelf instead of small boxes that could shift during the drive. We had already purchased and provided our own moving straps and were told everything would be secured at the end. That did not happen as planned. When the concern was raised again near the end, one mover went back into the truck and broke our table while stepping over the loaded furniture. They were also trying to get the payment code before the move was fully completed. When my mother asked how to report the broken table, the mover became agitated, told us we should have hired ‘professional movers,’ and repeatedly used the F-word loudly on our apartment building’s loading dock. The damage was disappointing, but the aggressive and unprofessional response afterward was even more concerning.
