There are three reasons why I cannot recommend this mover. One, I did not like being charged on 22 December for a move that did not happen until 13 Jan. Two, we discussed a stair fee and it was waived; however, the day of the move when half the furniture was on the truck I had to pay another $100 to complete the move because his help refused to do more steps without it. Since my apartment was half completed, I felt there was no option and agreed. Finally, I chose J’s service for the price; however, after adding the cash stairs payment, it was more expensive than the other listed options. The chief complaint was the couch's weight. Plenty of furniture on the market has features that will make it weigh more. This is part of the business and should have been considered when calculating the hourly fee. For reference, the stairs were 15 straight down to the truck and 14 straight up to the new place.
