  I wasn’t contacted about my move until the night before my move was to take place when I was informed, contrary to U-Haul’s guarantee of no hidden charges like stair fees, that the no stair fee only applied to one flight of stairs and, because I was moving to a third floor apartment, I would need to pay extra. When I objected he threatened to renege on the job and leave me deserted with no help. A nice piece of blackmail that I was forced to accept because I was a woman alone with no other recourse. I have moved many times and dealt with many different movers and, sadly, this is just another case of a dishonest moving company taking advantage of a lone woman with no other help. I would never hire them again and would never trust U-Haul’s ‘no hidden fees’ claim again. This was my first time using U-Haul and it will be my last. Unfortunately the mover’s conduct reflects poorly on U-Haul as well.

  These guys are great. Efficient, kind, hard working and careful with your items. This is the second time I have used Dexterous Movers and I will use them again in the future without a doubt. Great service

  I hired two movers for a 4 hour block but several things made the experience less than satisfying They showed up 30 minutes late I provided ratchet straps for safe packing but they ignored them and overall packing was a bit careless They finished unloading in about 2 and a half hours but when I asked for help assembling a bed frame which I assumed was reasonable with time left one mover said he didnt know how and the other claimed that bed setup isnt included and they usually get paid more for that. It felt like an excuse to leave early despite still being on the clock The heavy lifting got done and nothing major was damaged but I expected more professionalism and clearer communication. If you are hiring them I suggest setting detailed expectations in writing especially if you are paying for a block of time
