  Do NOT hire this company! I cannot stress that enough! It was so very clearly obvious that the 'movers' they sent me had never done a move before. They did not know how to carry things. They had absolutely no idea how to load a truck. One of the workers was actually wearing sandals. The furniture was too heavy for them. I provided a dolly but they did not know how to use it. They refused to load a larger dresser because they couldn't lift it. I, a 61 year old woman had to help them move several items because they could not manage them on their own. That being said, they took forever to do anything and the time ticked away. One got sick so we waited a half hour for the new person. Of course the clock was still ticking! I had to purchase more time although it was not my fault per se! BUT I will also add that one of the workers bowed out and they called in someone to replace them and the new person was excellent!! I did not have to be involved any longer.

  Smooth Moves

  We would not recommend using Smooth Moves based on our recent experience moving our 1-bedroom, ground floor apartment to another 1-bedroom apartment on the same city street. Biggest problems - the movers did not assess what furniture and items needed to be moved onto the truck in an efficient manner, the truck was loaded haphazardly, and all items to be moved didn't make it into the truck in one trip. The crew boss challenged the apartment building management on move out procedures that we had clearly explained, wasting time and causing ill will. They refused to use the moving blankets we provided, resulting in scratched wood furniture and fabric pieces getting scuffed and dirty. Even though the crew arrived on time, they did not finish the job in the original estimated time - first time we've had that happen in the three times we've moved our stuff from a 1-bedroom apartment to another.
