Does this box need to be folded and assembled, (come as a flat pack) or are the 2 boxes already folded and ends secured? I'm traveling with packing materials next month to pack my son's apartment to put in storage, and I am try to see what boxes will fit in my checked luggage (not with the TV in it- just trying to determine if I can transport the *empty box* in my luggage on the way to my son's residence out of state- TV will not be shipped or transported in luggage, just stored for a few months)

The description reads max 40" TV. My TV is a 42" diagonal, but with dimensions of 38 x 22. The description reads, "Fully telescoped length is 48-3/4”, but 4-5” of overlap is highly recommended" So, it seems my dimensions would fit with space to spare?
