Does uhaul sell the magnet decal cover kit in store locations

–Joshua Quartier 10/17/2019 11:07:54 AM

Hi, Joshua! This decal kit is available in select locations - on the product page, please select "pick up in store" and enter your zip code. If no locations appear, that means there are no locations near you that stock the item. You can always choose to have this item shipped to your home by selecting "ship to home." I hope that is helpful!

How big is this kit? Is it enough to cover logos on a 6x12 trailer and pick up ?

–Kitty Kat 8/17/2018 3:03:26 PM

Hello! Each kit includes 54 inches x 132 inches of decal. One kit is sufficient for covering the logos on a U-Haul 6x12 trailer and pickup truck. Thanks for asking!

Can I order and pay for this now and collect it when I pick up my truck in a month or should I order it just before I pick up my rental?

–Steve 7/24/2018 1:32:06 PM

Hey, Steve! There are some U-Haul centers in California and Nevada that stock this item that you could place a pick up in store order from ahead of time online. You can choose to order it a month ahead or right before, it's really up to you and what's more convenient for you.

If you are not in Calfornia or Nevada, you'll need to purchase the kit online to be shipped to you. I hope that is helpful!

How kits do i need to cover an entire truck?

–Kiki 2/2/2018 8:48:51 AM

Hi, Kiki! This kit is not designed to cover the entire truck. It is designed to be cut to cover just the logos and trademarks that exist on the truck. To cover the entire box portion of the truck would likely take several of these decal kits depending on the size of the truck. One kit is sufficient to cover the logos and trademarks on the box portion of a U-Haul truck but it will not completely cover. I hope that is helpful!

How large is it?

–Person 444 7/18/2017 7:14:14 PM

Hello! This kit is 54 inches x 132 inches and weighs about 4.15 pounds. I hope that is helpful!

Is it possible to paint/color the decals before applying it to the Uhaul?

–Shay 7/30/2015 1:03:54 PM

Absolutely Shay!

You can paint or color the decal kit as you see fit, the only thing I would advise is to wait for the paint to fully dry before applying the decal to the side of the truck.

Thanks for asking!

I appreciate uHaul's willingness to address the Burning Man logo issue and to promote a proactive solution. Kudos to uHaul. I also appreciate uHaul wants to turn a profit of yet another product sale. That's cool. Many Burners might want to customize the decal with BM logos and camp logo's appropriate to Burning Man instead of just a white patch. Can the Decal Kit material be painted or printed on? Can you give a recommendation for any other products available on the market that would also work which we can get through our local custom sign printing shop? TIA.

–Phred 7/29/2015 12:02:23 PM

Hey Phred, our decal kit can most definitely be both painted and printed on! If you wanted to print images onto the decal kit you should be able to take it to your local shop and have them print whatever you like onto the decal, just make sure they are using UV latex or a solvent based ink to print so that it actually sticks to the decal.

Going the DIY route and painting the decal kit yourself is a perfectly acceptable option as well. The only thing I want to advise either route you take is to let whatever paint/ink you use to decorate the decal kit to fully dry before installing in onto the side of the truck.

UV based inks should be given at least 1 hour to dry, and solvent based inks should be given a full 24 hours to dry before you apply the decal to the side of a truck.

Good luck, and thanks for asking!

Will this work on a pickup / trailer combo?

–Josh Haftel 7/28/2015 6:15:53 AM

This decal kit will work on any U-Haul truck or trailer!
