Does u haul recertify 100lb propane tanks
Hi Jim. No, we do not. Tanks can be recertified by a qualified technician in your area. This involves a thorough visual inspection to ensure the tank is safe to use. Recertification can be a cost-effective option, typically ranging from $10 to $35 USD. U-Haul recommends choosing a vendor that uses a metal stamp or laser etching to apply a new expiration date. Certification decals are not recommended by U-Haul because these stickers are easily damaged, affecting readability. You also run the risk of counterfeit or fake decals. Once recertified, you can safely use your tank for another 5 years. I hope that helps.
