loose fit in Hitch so carrier wobbles, anti wobble design would have been much better. The carrier is big and heavy, It does have lots of room for my 30' snow blower and that is why I ordered it.
What are the inside dimensions and weight?
Our hitch pro writes: The 1040100 Cargo Carrier weighs 70 lbs. The platform is 48" X 32" with 3" side rails and has a weight capacity of 400 lbs. Order with the bi-fold ramp 1040200 and eliminate lifting of wheeled gear. Please do not exceed the lowest of: vehicle mfg's, hitch weight carry tongue weight, or cargo basket rating. Please use with a class 3 or higher 2 inch receiver hitch.
Will this work for loading my electric wheelchair (driving it on NOT lifting it on)?
The UHaul hitch pros write: You can eliminate lifting your electric wheelchair onto the Pro Series cargo carrier 1040100 by also ordering the optional Pro Series bi-fold ramp 1040200.
What is the reccomended distance from the basket to the pavement?
UHaul's Hitch Central group writes: Ground clearance recommendations will vary for each vehicle. Part 1040100 has a gradual 4 inch rise, starting 5 inches out from the pin hole. If ground clearance is still a concern, you can gain an additional 6" rise with U-Haul dual receiver part number adapter9.
What is the distance from the center of the hitch to the basket?
Uhaul's Hitch Central group notes that .... The distance from the pin and clip hole to the basket is 11-11/16"
