–Ronald 7/2/2014 10:31:35 AM

I installed the module in my 08 Jeep liberty. Instead of connecting to the battery post, I connected the fuse holder directly to power wire feeding into the fuse box. I placed the module inside the jack compartment and ran the wires in and out through the rubber grommet along side the left tail light wires. With this said, the instructions don't tell me what the LED should read. The TM light comes on when I turn on the lights. The LT and RT come on with the corresponding turn signal, and both LT and RT come on when I apply the brakes. Is this correct?

–Luis 4/5/2014 7:49:33 PM

Our hitch pro writes: "The unit is working properly, however, I am not exactly clear as to where or how you attached the power wire. Supplying power to the unit directly from the the battery is the recommended procedure."

I have this wiring kit installed on my car. The 20 amp fuse installed by my battery is blown. I tried to replace it but it blew the new fuse when I tried to install it. Do you have any tips on how to install a new fuse? Do I need to disconnect one of the battery terminals first?

–Joel 12/1/2013 9:26:16 PM

The 20 amp blown fuses are doing their job protecting the wiring and electrical equipment. Please contact your local U-Haul center and schedule an appointment with the hitch professional. The hitch pro, will be able to quickly diagnose the blown fuse issue and make any necessary repairs.

–Ronald 12/3/2013 8:08:51 AM

How long do these things last? Mine is about 6 years old and seems to have stopped working. The trailer connector is only putting out 5 VDC when there is 12VDC going into the power module. Does that mean the module is bad?

–Glenn 11/30/2013 11:53:46 AM

The most probable cause of the voltage loss is due to an insufficient ground or loose connection. Please contact your local U-Haul center and schedule an appointment with the hitch professional. The hitch pro will be able to quickly diagnose the issue and make any necessary repairs.
