Installation was great overall, the crew did a good job and worked hard especially on the wiring. Only thing was the trim that they removed was not put back in properly, but that's pretty minor. Overall I was very happy!

I don’t know of a lot people that need a hitch installed but I would recommend this man for any of your hitch repairs or installation. The gentleman is a 6 star mechanic. Easy to setup appointment online. Hitch install on RAV4 is fast. Tech had it done in about 30 mins and said car mfg had all the bolt in points to make it easy. Waiting area and store staff were great.

Call center service could be better. They are not aware of what is going on at the locations to book appointments. Booked me for same day appt. for hitch installation and the location was already booked and busy for the day. Had to reschedule.

I received excellent care for this entire process. I made a couple of calls to ask some questions and received lots of helpful information. When I arrived for the installation, it went very quickly and the gentlemen helping me even installed my bike rack! So, incredibly helpful! I sat in the store while they installed the hitch and saw several other customer being helped, and they too were so well taken care of. I am very impressed and cannot recommend y’all highly enough! The real time camera hitch install would be a plus

5 stars! The staff at this U-Haul are genuinely friendly and helpful. They made the whole process pleasant even when things weren’t perfect. If you show up without a reservation, expect a long wait. The place can get backed up. Booking ahead makes a big difference. Once you’re in, the crew is great! patient, friendly, and they actually care about getting you sorted. That attitude more than makes up for the wait times. Would come back, but I’ll always reserve first. Thank you Mr. Has & Staff!

Hitch man was sick…he came in, did a bang up job on my hitch install! Great attitude, very professional, spent sometime with me going over the parts install. Uhaul does it again. Used them over the years for installments on Jeep, BMW, Mercedes, and now a Volkswagen! They have been outstanding….fast and extremely knowledgeable about the parts there, guarantee to support their products and installations! Also thanks to the facilities manager. Gave me a discount because the job took another day!

Ran into a bump because my car didn't have pre-installed wiring and they were able to complete the installation by tapping into the car's wiring which I appreciate it because we install these things because we need them and I could stay on schedule.

They forgot to give me the end piece with the ball on it. If I hadn’t gone back into the store to ask a question about the process to hook up a trailer, I would have driven away without it. Does the team have a checklist they review to ensure all of the pieces are provided to the customer?

The technician, Larcell, was absolutely amazing. He was able to install my hitch when no one else could. Plus he provided additional information about how to care for the truck while towing. He definitely was a wealth of knowledge and I am glad he helped me out. Bill also assisted me with finding the proper towing equipment that assisted me with my moving needs. There is nothing to improve! Every part of the process was perfect and more, special requests were accommodated even when imconvenient, and communication was friendly and professional. Everyone I've ever interacted with at this location deserves a raise. The installation itself was excellently done in under an hour, and I have already sung my praises for UHaul of Columbia, CT to friends and family! The UHaul app could've been easier to work with, but in the end I'm actually glad I had to go to the location in person. Would give six stars if possible.

Service was excellent and friendly. The wrong wiring harness was shipped to the store for my hitch install. The staff made a 1:15 round trip drive to another store to pick up the correct part and finish the install on the day promised.

Highly recommend this U-Haul location for their excellent customer service and workmanship! I booked an appointment online Friday morning to have a trailer hitch installed later that day. They were closing early due to construction so they called to tell me they couldn’t do it that day and wouldn’t be able to get me in until Monday. When I explained I was leaving for my trip Sunday morning and needed the trailer hitch before then, Jeremy worked it out to come in that Saturday morning (normally his day off) to take care of the installation. Very professional on the phone and I couldn’t believe that someone actually went the extra mile for a customer. That’s a rare occurrence these days! A huge thank you to Jeremy for going above and beyond and for doing an excellent job on the installation. I truly appreciate it and recommend anyone needing a trailer hitch installed or anything from U-Haul to use this location.

Quick and easy install

It would be nice if U-Haul kept a full range of possible fuses that are required for trailer mode in automobiles after it installation. I had to go by the necessary fuses at AutoZone

Manager Adrian was very professional and was able to get my hitch installed in a timely manner by doing it a day earlier than expected. I have also interacted with other employees at his site and they were very friendly and helpful. Great job for a very busy store!!

Please make sure to let customers know that the drop off time is not necessarily the time they will work on the vehicle. I dropped off the vehicle at 9am and it was not ready until 3:30 pm. The technician was great. I was not made aware of this when I made the appointment.

I was never notified that the installation was complete. I just happened to check in the app. Other than that A+

Kelvin did a fantastic job installing a hitch and wiring on my Jeep Grand Cherokee. Although these parts were aftermarket, Kelvin went the extra mile to install an additional bracket for my wiring, making the final product look flush and original to the vehicle. Thank you!

Aquire more local staff to answer incoming phone calls. I attempted to call the store multiple times and was unsuccessful multiple times. I then contacted customer service and explained why I needed to speak with someone at the location. The customer advocate placed me on hold as she attempted to contact the store and was unsuccessful also. She returned to the line and said she left them a vm to call me back and needless to say no one ever did.

The Manager Amanda, and the man who did the work, Dillion, were extremely helpful to me. My light bulbs were out for the brake light, and turn signal. Dillion went out of his way to replace them for me after I bought them. I appreciate that they helped me to get this work done that day because I’m moving soon . I highly recommend them.

First of all, the staff is always great at this location. But I want point out the exceptional service I received from Ryan on 08/05/26. The hitch install job was excepted to take potentially 3 1/2 hours or more. Done in under an hour and a half. Once complete, he gave me a thorough rundown of the Bluetooth braking component and offered a complete breakdown of what was done. He did this all in a way I could understand. And with a genuine smile on his face. He even followed up with me later that same day to make sure all was good and I was completely satisfied. The job was completed for nearly $2000 less than the dealer quote. I cannot believe the dealer markup. Anyways, I cannot recommend U-Haul enough, specifically the Stickney Ave location. I even ordered 2 U-Boxes to move some items to a house I have in AZ. Much less expensive than competitors. Thanks guys and gals at U-Haul!!! You saved me money and I was more than happy to give you the business and this shout out .

I want to commend Mike who installed the hitch. He went beyond the call of duty to research how to do my vehicle, which ended up being tricky. He was so professional, cared so much about what he was doing, and had great patience. Thank you Mike! He deserves a bonus or raise!!!

I think the people that install the hitch should have a car lift not just ramps to drive up on. I feel like the gentleman who installed the hitch did very well. He stated the wiring was the most difficult and I definitely can see that I’m not impressed with the way it was wired and the looseness of the wires in the engine compartment and lack of attention to putting things back the way they were. I had to put several plastic coverings over bolts where they had taken them off and also missing a washer and a nut to hold one of the compartments down. i’m sure this job could be made a little bit easier on your staff with the proper equipment such as a lift. I did not know that the wiring would be left inside my spare tire. I was a little disappointed in that, and the disarray of my trunk area, however, as long as it works, that’s really all that matters to me and I would recommend U-Haul to others for a hitch installation.

My experience at UHaul Port Ave was excellent. Sometimes the best experiences happen when problems happen. I brought in my car to have a hitch installed. The hitch was installed but the trailer wiring could not be. The problem was not with UHaul or the Port Avenue facility. The problem was with my car. The technicians there spent some hours attempting to finish my installation. When they could not finish they fully explained the problem and gave me options to go forward. They also promptly credited my account for the work they could not accomplish. I am quite happy with the service I received at Port Avenue. I will always use this store for my moving and trailering needs.

Clearly the staff is dedicated to the business. Despite being understaffed and overwhelmed with work, the UHAUL staff was able to install my trailer hitch on a busy Saturday. While it was a little behind schedule, they did a great job. Kudos to these guys, they deserve a raise.

The very first interaction at the front desk is what stops me from giving an excellent rating. The reception from desk attendants is nothing. If by chance they see you They just look up at you like you’re an alien from outer space. One questions themselves as to whether they are at the right place. No greeting or information was provided. The trainee was an absolute zero who was too lazy to speak but would just leave you hanging. The technician, Mr. Columbia was outstanding. He provided instruction and information about my hitch. He is a very kind and thoughtful man.

I had a very frustrating experience where an install of a brake controller was performed by a U-haul in my home area but bc we were leaving the next morning we couldn’t get it fixed by the original shop. So while on this roadtrip we were setup with an appointment here to rectify the situation. After explains the situation to them, Lauren and Caleb dove into right away to diagnose the issue. They quickly found the issue and came up with a fix to make it right and mount the controller with a bracket instead of the prior double stick tape. Both Lauren and Caleb went above and beyond to fix this mess up by a previous branch and honestly restored my hope in U-haul. I can’t thank them enough for doing this so we could drive the rest of this roadtrip with confidence in having trailer brakes. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

These guys are great , went there for hitch install and for a 4 pin connector to connect lights. They found an old one in the back for me. Just wanted to say thank you to the hitch installer and the person who helped source cable . Refreshing to see such great costumer service !

Amazing customer service and friendly staff

The type of hitch we got has two metal rings that extend below box into which I insert my bike rack. Unfortunately, my driveway is on a slope and the rings scrape the ground when I back out. Can I have the rings removed or repositioned so they don’t scrape?

The hitch wiring was what was accomplished. The wiring inside the vehicle at the back doors was rerouted and connected to the outside in a manner more reasonable no wires cluttering inside the van. Excellent job done.

Everything was excellent with the installation, my only opinion for improvement is adding a vending machine to your lobby.

The staff at this facility are very professional. My experience was top notch, and I highly recommend their services. I had a two inch receiver hitch installed on our Toyota Rav 4 at approximately half the price of the OEM item! Fatima joked that I brought her lunch as I was eating a bagel when I showed up for the appointment. I was willing to share but she declined!

The Lancaster U-Haul hitch installation crew at 5456 Main St, East Petersburg, PA 17520 can definitely take some lessons from these folks in Rosedale. OUTSTANDING service. I will NEVER take my business back to that East Petersburg, PA location.

Michael, our installer, was amazing in helping me to get the hitch installed when I needed it to be. He went above and beyond and can be raided with a 5 plus plus plus plus. He communicated effectively, he even was amazingly fast in terms of installation I got out at least an hour ahead of what I expected and answered all of my questions no matter how simple they were. I would highly recommend this location for installations when you need a hitch.

Manager Josh was very helpful in preliminary questions prior to install of Hitch on my 2018 Buick Enclave. Installer Nika was accommodating addressing some of the concerns that I had with the installation. She did an excellent job in a timely fashion. The rear body parts that were removed and replaced completed professionally, not a screw missing and no body scratches. U-Haul communication was fantastic. Ordering the right hitch, scheduling and updated texts on appointment time/ confirmation. Utube videos of installation of hitch were very informative for me and understanding the complete process. Thank you, nice job!

The website says u can schedule anytime for a hitch install but that isn’t true they’re only able to do it from like 12-3 on most days, we scheduled an appointment at 9am and had to find stuff to do till out appointment time. Other than that slight inconvenience of time it was a great experience. Quick service and they did their best to get us a lower price on the install!

Getting in and out from the road is not great.

I had a hitch installed in my 2026 Nissan rogue, by Dalton at The Point Loma location. That was an outstanding experience, as Dalton was extremely friendly super efficient and did a great job with the install. I highly recommend this location.

Christian provided excellent customer service; he did nothing wrong. He went above and beyond his call of duty, but there was one thing that happened when they plugged in the switch for the trailer. The left side worked, but the right side wouldn’t work, and I am still waiting to have that corrected.

Waited while getting my hitch installed. Was done in 20 minutes. The people here are very nice friendly

Fast service you don’t need to wait for the hitch to ship.They have the availability product you need .You can wait if you want or dropped of your car .Juan is great tech and honest .mechanic .reasonable price I hope they have like a package for all installing the wire harness but it’s is separate deals with the hitches

In the past, I have rented at other locations and found the customer service to be less than expected. Today, I have to tell you that I don’t think the customer service could’ve been better. The hitch Pro tech called Chris F was the most patient, kind, informative employee you could possibly wish to have. My vehicle is on the older side and Chris patiently explained its towing capabilities and limitations. I’m really glad I went to this location and when I rent a trailer, I’m going back to only this location. You now have a firm customer for life.

everyone that worked there were super helpful. I think if you had a system to pre-sign all the documents and just drop the keys on the same slot as the rental returns. that would have saved me some time waiting in line at a busy time for your truck rental business.
