A 1-year price lock guarantee from U-Haul ensures your storage rent remains the same for your first 12 months. U-Haul believes in transparency; our monthly rates are printed and posted in stores, and prices displayed online are exactly the same as when you walk-in. No deceptive teaser introductory prices, that are then aggressively increased after just a few months. Our competitors sometimes double or even triple their customer's monthly rate within a year's time.

The Fine Print

  • Applies to Rent: The price lock guarantees no changes to your monthly rental rate for 1 year. It does not apply to optional add-ons like SafeStor® tenant insurance or late-payment fees.
  • New Storage Units: This offer applies only to self-storage units rented by new customers or additional self-storage units rented by existing customers.
  • Promo Period: The 1-year price lock begins on your contract start date. If you receive a month of free self-storage with a qualifying one-way equipment rental, the following 11 months will be locked at the fixed rate.
  • After 1 Year: Your monthly rate may be subject to an increase after 1 year. However, any rate increase will be preceded by email and letter notification 30 days in advance.
