U-Haul Hosts the 2013 Wounded Warrior Project Soldier Ride Phoenix: Join U-Haul in Saluting America’s Real-Life Heroes
PHOENIX (Oct. 15, 2013) — Phoenix-based U-Haul, founding partner of Soldier Ride®, is reaching out to the community for support in saluting injured service members during the 2013 Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) Soldier Ride Phoenix, as we welcome riders to the Valley during the official launch on Friday, October 18, 2013, at 9:45 a.m., at U-Haul corporate headquarters, 2727 North Central Avenue, Phoenix, Ariz.
This year, Soldier Ride will be launching the Phoenix segment of the bicycle ride from U-Haul corporate headquarters, cycling North through Phoenix and into the Town of Paradise Valley. U-Haul is excited to host Soldier Ride Phoenix and would like to encourage the community to show their support by making an online donation to “Team U-Haul” at U-Haul Soldier Ride Donation Match U-Haul will be matching all donations dollar for dollar.

In August 2012, WWP opened up a regional office in Phoenix in order to help reach out to the many Wounded Warriors and their family members who reside in the Valley. Tens of thousands of Wounded Warriors and family members receive support each year through 19 WWP programs and services designed to nurture the mind and body, and encourage economic empowerment.
“Our goal with any of our programs like a Soldier Ride is to foster the most successful, well-adjusted generation of wounded service members in our nation’s history,” said Steve Nardizzi, executive director for Wounded Warrior Project. “The Wounded Warriors participating in this Soldier Ride will be inspired by the support U-Haul is providing. As one of the founding partners for Wounded Warrior Project, U-Haul’s deep military roots and passion for serving injured service members is matched by the compassion with which they offer support and for that we are so proud to call them partner.”
