Superstorm Sandy Relief Efforts
(Being offered through January 31, 2013)

U-Haul has a long-time policy of assisting those in need during natural disasters, such as hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, fires, etc., by offering 30 days of free self-storage and U-Box container moving and self-storage at participating U-Haul self-storage facilities on an as-available basis.

Customers with reservations in an area affected by  recent storm activity

Our hearts, thoughts and prayers are with those who have been adversely affected by the recent storm activity across the United States.  We have many locations that have been affected by these storms and we are working diligently to get our facilities open for business in order to service the many customer's who are needing our services.  If you have any questions about your existing reservation please contact 800-GO-UHAUL (800-468- 4285).

Disaster relief donation requests
U-Haul continues to receive hundreds of phone calls and emails from individuals and organizations requesting support with getting much needed relief items to the areas affected by Superstorm Sandy, storms that have plaqued the southeastern coast, Arkansas and Georgia.  Because the need has been so great, we are unfortunately unable to assist every individual or organization that submits a request for a donation of rental equipment to assist in these recovery efforts.   We have chosen to provide donations to and partner with the American Red Cross, the military, government agencies, local police and fire departments, and organizations we have existing relationships or partnerships with. If you feel you or your organization fits under this criteria, please email your donation request to publicrelations@uhaul.com.  Please note that Disaster Relief donation requests have up to a 72 hour response time.   We do try to respond as quickly as possible but it depends on the volume of requests we receive and how quickly we are able to get through them all.

If you are an evacuee or family who has personally been affected by a natural disaster and need more than the 30-days-free self-storage assistance program, we have been advised to provide you with the following instructions: Register first with FEMA at 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) and then register with the American Red Cross at 1-866-GET-INFO  (438-4636).
