PHOENIX (April 19, 2013) — U-Haul International honors National Day of Service and Remembrance for Victims and Survivors of Terrorism not just today, April 19, 2013, but every day with its United We Stand U-Haul Commemorative SuperGraphic.

This year marks the third anniversary of the proclamation issued by President Obama on April 19, 2010, deeming April 19th each year the National Day of Service and Remembrance for Victims and Survivors of Terrorism. The proclamation calls upon all departments, agencies, and instrumentalities of the United States to display the flag of the United States at half staff on this day in honor of the individuals who lost their lives as a result of terrorism.

“On this day and every day, U-Haul honors the memories of victims and survivors of terrorism by putting forth our best effort at work, at home and in our community,” stated Stuart Shoen, executive vice president, U-Haul International, Inc.  “A commitment to excellence, in all that we do, will preserve our American way of life and protect the liberties we share as citizens of this great country.”

Since the creation of the United We Stand U-Haul Commemorative SuperGraphic in 2002, more than 3,200 U-Haul trucks and 600 U-Haul trailers showcase the United We Stand image created and designed to pay tribute to the victims of September 11, 2001 and honor American patriotism. The patriotic image honors the men women and children who lost their lives on that tragic day, and pays tribute to the courageous rescuers who died trying to save them.

U-Haul is honored to feature the United We Stand Commemorative SuperGraphic on its trucks and trailers as it is meant to embrace the pride and endurance of the Amercian spirit, especially with the recent events in Boston and April 19th being the anniversary of the Oklahoma City bombing. The United We Stand Commemorative SuperGraphic not only represents the events of Sept. 11th but is also meant to remind us all that we are one nation of people all constantly seeking new hope, new opportunities and new experiences.  We are all united in one common goal – the safety and security of our families, friends, loved ones and our nation.

The individuals who have lost their lives and their families who have suffered tremendous loss will remain in our hearts forever.
