Brad’s International Owner Adds U-Haul, Aims to Improve Oakland

OAKLAND, CALIF. (July 28, 2015) – What used to be a clubhouse for a motorcycle group is now the heart and soul of owner Errick Bradford’s business.

Brad’s International offers a forum for Bradford to plan and initiate events to benefit the Bay Area. But with so much unused space on his property, Bradford recently chose to partner Brad’s International with U-Haul and provide his community with products from the industry leader in do-it-yourself moving and self-storage.

Located at 1411 55th Ave., Brad’s International is in the heart of the Oakland Coliseum area. Hours of operation are 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday; 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday; and 8 a.m.-noon Sunday.

Brad’s International is the third business Bradford has partnered with U-Haul. In 2010, he brought U-Haul to 220 Auto Detail Center at 690 Hegenberger Road, three miles from Brad’s International.

Bradford also recently became the lone U-Haul neighborhood dealer in Berkeley at Gilman Street Rentals located at 1241 6th St. Fortunately for University of Cal-Berkeley students, they no longer have to leave the city to find U-Haul rentals when it’s time to move at semester’s end.

Between the three businesses, it’s hard to believe Bradford has time for anything else. But that’s where Brad’s International comes in.

“Motorcycle clubs get a bad rep,” Bradford said. “We’re here to show people that we aren’t like those guys in the movies. Brad’s International helps us clean up our community while shedding a positive light on what we really do.”

From blood drives to feeding the homeless, Bradford does anything possible to make his community a better place.

“I’ve known Errick for about 30 years,” said Travis Williams, manager at Brad’s International. “I really appreciate what he’s done for me. He pretty much lets me operate everything over here.”

Williams does everything from answering phone calls to setting up U-Haul trailers.

U-Haul and Brad’s International are striving to benefit the environment through sustainability initiatives. Truck sharing is a core U-Haul sustainability business practice that allows individuals to access a fleet of trucks that is larger than what they could access on an individual basis.

Every U-Haul truck placed in a community helps keep 19 personally owned large-capacity vehicles, pickups, SUVs and vans off the road. Fewer vehicles means less traffic congestion, less pollution, less fuel burned and cleaner air.

Brad’s International is a great place to become U-Haul Famous. Take your picture in front of a U-Haul product, send it in and your face could land on the side of a U-Haul truck. Upload your photo through Instagram using #uhaulfamous, or go to www.uhaulfamous.com to submit photos and learn more.
