U-Haul and Consign It Furniture are ideal partners for several reasons, not the least of which is having U-Haul trucks available to transport furniture purchases. Mutual concern exists for the environment as well.
“Our job is to refurbish and resell lightly used furniture,” co-owner Michael O’Brien said. “We give it new life with paint and keep it out of the landfill.”
Consign It Furniture is located in the New Garden Shopping Center. Moving to this locale from a warehouse has expanded the furniture showroom by 11,000 square feet.
“We had a waiting list of people wanting to consign items with us,” O’Brien added.
Consign It Furniture not only refurbishes furniture, but it also sells Chalk Paint® by Annie Sloan so customers can work on their own projects. Workshops and painting classes are available.
Consign It Furniture is involved in the community through Kennett Square charities. It recently held a holiday open house, donating $1 to the Kennett Food Cupboard for each customer that came into the store.

U-Haul and Consign It Furniture are striving to benefit the environment through sustainability initiatives. Truck sharing is a core U-Haul sustainability business practice that allows individuals to access a fleet of trucks that is larger than what they could access on an individual basis.
Every U-Haul truck placed in a community helps keep 19 personally owned large-capacity vehicles, pickups, SUVs and vans off the road. Fewer vehicles means less traffic congestion, less pollution, less fuel burned and cleaner air.
Consign It Furniture is a great place to become U-Haul Famous. Take your picture in front of a U-Haul product, send it in and your face could land on the side of a U-Haul truck. Upload your photo through Instagram using #uhaulfamous, or go to www.uhaulfamous.com to submit photos and learn more.
