LOS ANGELES, CALIF. (May 8, 2015) – Ali Nowaid and Salvador Carrillo accumulated millions of dollars worth of heavy equipment through the years. The result of that effort is a thriving rental business: Denali Equipment, Inc.
In an attempt to better serve their community and expose their new business to new customers, Nowaid and Carrillo recently brought U-Haul on board at both Denali Equipment locations.
Denali Equipment at 1621 S. Hooper Ave. offers U-Haul® trucks, trailers, towing equipment, pre-tow inspection, support rental items, boxes, after-hours drop-off and popular U-Box storage containers as a U-Haul “AAA” dealer.
With 257 cubic feet of space and one-ton capacity, U-Box containers are delivered to and picked up at your door, can be packed on your timeframe and are stored in a secure warehouse until you are ready to retrieve your belongings. U-Box containers can be shipped anywhere in the U.S. or Canada and stored for as little as a few weeks to a few years.

Nowaid and Carrillo share backgrounds in construction. Carrillo has a paving company and worked closely with Nowaid’s father, who assists on projects for the University of Southern California Medical Center and other USC campuses.
“My father has really been a positive influence,” Nowaid said. “He still gives me managerial advice to this day.”
One piece of advice that Nowaid has taken to heart is to hire locally. Denali Equipment hires workers from the local community and works with local businesses in order to sustain the Los Angeles economy.
Since the S. Hooper Avenue location is in the Los Angeles industrial district, Nowaid has been pleasantly surprised by the popularity of his U-Haul products.
“The Denali locations are right in the heart of downtown L.A. and they’re really competitive with their prices,” U-Haul area field manager Jose Ramirez said. “Denali #2 is actually in the art district, which is really growing right now. They have a major contract with USC and they have a third location in Sun Valley, which is looking to add U-Haul in the next year.”
Denali Equipment is three miles from the main USC campus, so Nowaid and Carrillo have appealed to college students in need of U-Haul moving supplies at the beginning and end of every semester.
“We’re starting to stock up for summertime,” Nowaid said.
