The Warehouse Partners with U-Haul at a Second Location
HARRISONBURG, VA. (Sept. 11, 2015) – Ever wonder what happened to those shoes you ordered that never made it to your doorstep? It turns out large shipping companies have a lost-and-found section where these misfit items end up.
William Mikolay, owner of The Warehouse locations in Harrisonburg and Waynesboro, was searching for something he ordered and eventually stumbled onto the lost-and-found section, where shipping companies either sell the items or eventually discard them.
So Mikolay decided to open a warehouse to sell the items at discounted prices. What began as a side project quickly evolved into two large stores that now double as U-Haul® neighborhood dealerships.
The Warehouse at 4771 S. Valley Pike in Harrisonburg recently added U-Haul products. It is open 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Saturday. Reserve U-Haul items at this location by visiting http://www.uhaul.com/Locations/Truck-Rentals-near-Harrisonburg-VA or calling (540) 432-0400.
The Warehouse at 2604 W. Main St. in Waynesboro added U-Haul products early last year. It is open 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday. U-Haul items can be reserved here by visiting http://www.uhaul.com/Locations/Truck-Rentals-near-Waynesboro-VA or calling (540) 946-0011.
“We don’t just get freight from shipping companies,” Mikolay explained. “We do a lot with the U.S. Customs (Agency) also. We’ll take stuff that’s been seized by them.”

U-Haul Company of Virginia and The Warehouse are striving to benefit the environment through sustainability initiatives. Truck sharing is a core U-Haul sustainability business practice that allows individuals to access a fleet of trucks that is larger than what they could access on an individual basis.
Every U-Haul truck placed in a community helps keep 19 personally owned large-capacity vehicles, pickups, SUVs and vans off the road. Fewer vehicles means less traffic congestion, less pollution, less fuel burned and cleaner air.
The Warehouse is a great place to become U-Haul Famous. Take your picture in front of a U-Haul product, send it in and your face could land on the side of a U-Haul truck. Upload your photo through Instagram using #uhaulfamous, or go to www.uhaulfamous.com to submit photos and learn more.
