Now Open: First U-Haul Center in Hot Springs Features 850 Storage Units
HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (Aug. 10, 2026) — U-Haul® has opened its first Company retail, moving and self-storage facility in Hot Springs at 623 Files Road to better meet the needs of Garland County.
U-Haul Moving & Storage of Hot Springs began serving do-it-yourself movers and storage customers on July 24.
The 62,825-square-foot facility includes more than 850 self-storage units with climate-control options; high-tech security features; drive-in load and unload access for weather protection; ADA-accessible units; elevator and utility cart access; extended-hours access; and more.
New self-storage rentals at U-Haul of Hot Springs come with the 1-Year Price Lock Guarantee, providing customers with a fair monthly rate to stay on budget with the certainty of no cost increases for at least a year.
The Files Road location also offers truck and trailer sharing; U-Box® portable moving and storage containers; professional hitch installation; and a full line of boxes, moving supplies, and towing accessories from a spacious retail showroom.
A U-Box warehouse on site provides storage capacity for 600 U-Box containers.
“We’ve seen growth in the community of Hot Springs and the need for climate-controlled storage, so we decided to purchase land and build this state-of-the-art facility to serve the community,” stated Angela Cogar, U-Haul Co. of Arkansas president. “We’ve seen a need for climate-controlled storage, and in the near future we’ll also offer boat and RV storage.”
U-Haul will employ at least eight Team Members to staff the location. U-Haul will look to hire locally to promote job growth in the Hot Springs community. Honored as a Best for Vets leading veteran-friendly employer by The Military Times, U-Haul actively recruits veterans and gives them preference in the hiring process. Apply at uhauljobs.com.
Early in 2026, U-Haul introduced the 1-Year Storage Price Lock to bolster trust with customers and draw a clear line between its major competitors that use substantial rate hikes and junk fees as part of their predatory pricing strategies to hurt budget-conscious consumers.
“Other industry giants are using these bait-and-switch tactics while people are already dealing with high inflation,” U-Haul CEO Joe Shoen stated in a March 2 press release. “It angers customers and dissolves trust in the entire industry. After 80 years in business, we know there is a better way to treat people.”

The price lock comes with benefits like: optional insurance on your storage unit (recommended but never mandatory); receive a free discus lock for your unit when renting on the U-Haul app or uhaul.com; and your first month of storage is free with a qualifying one-way equipment rental (in which case the price lock would apply to the next 11 months). This deal is now available at more than 2,100 U-Haul-owned and -operated centers across the U.S. and Canada.
