The nut which secures the trailer to the hitch was cross threaded on the bolt making it impossible to tighten all the way. The staff just told me to be careful. On my way home the trailer came unhitched and narrowly averted an accident. Once home I was able to use a pipe wrench to tighten it down all the way. The nut and bolt are completely useless now for the next person.John W.

Really bad experience. Felt pushed out the door. Tried to get her to put in an adjustment for the mileage but she refused. My previous experience a week earlier at another location and the representative was able to make an adjustment. The pick up location is 12 miles from the house - a total 24 mile round trip at the loading location. Add another 20 mile round trip from the drop off location to the unloading location. The trip router does not take these into consideration. These are rural locations! You drive past the U-Haul places and then have to drive back! Fix this already!Michael H.

The plastic fender on the tow dolly had a serious vibration crack and was holding together by only an inch or two. It completely broke near the very end of my 1770 mile trip, but didn't come completely loose. It didn't interfere with competition of my trip though.ALLYNCURTIS D.

I was sent here even though I stated I was in a location that turned out to be 17 miles away. I was in my car driving when I arranged the drop off location and agreed with being able to see where I was dropping the trailer off. I trusted they were sending me somewhere close. I passed three Uhaul locations on the way way to my drop location. It seemed that I was used as a delivery driver for a trailer to a location in need. Your allotted mile allowance is skimpy, to use a kind word. I drove direct to my destination, which was 4 miles pasr the drop-off point. I can understand your accountants may have found an obscured revenue stream within your operations. What customer would fight a few extra $$$ added after the toil of moving is complete? Not many, I'll bet, and that's a tidy sum to collect for the mass of people who trust your brand. Your move to raise more short-term income has worked. I reserved a 15' truck 3-4 days prior to pick up. I actually went into the location to do this. When pick up day arrived, somehow I was not in the system to pick up at that location but at a different one. I had to wait 30-45 minutes for the transfer to take place. After we inspected the truck we were informed that the dolly would be charged if the zip tie was broken. When we arrived home and opened the back we then noticed the zip tie was broken. I called the location multiple times with no response. I had to drive back to the location to inform them that the zip tie was broken prior to us renting the vehicle. They said that would be fine. Once we returned the vehicle the receipt was updated with the mileage I used. The next day I saw 2 identical charges for the truck rental. This made my account be overdrafted and charged $29 each time the something I had scheduled to come out of my account. I am very displeased with this. I called U-haul customer service and they said it was a glitch in the system but it would take days for the credit to appear back. Really bad mistake during these times. I am in the Army with 2 children and having a rough time during the pandemic. My husband was laid off and I due to the circumstances and I was the only one working. So to be without money for days was very stressful. That is exactly why I don't like providing my card information for it to be stored in a computer for a company to make mistakes like this.MARQUITAROCHELLE D.
I thought that the place to get the rental went well. However, the truck on the way to Alabama broke down in NC. After dealing with roadside assistance, I was stuck on the highway for 2 hours before someone came to look at the vehicle. The gentlemen was unable to figure out what was wrong with the vehicle due to all the error codes that were present including the speedomitor no loner working, the gas read as empty, check engine light was on and the stability controls were not working. When speaking with roadside assistance again, they said we needed to get the vehicle towed to Charlotte in order for me to get a new rental truck. I went ahead and drove the truck to a small gas station to wait. Basically from 11a to 4p I was dealing with this mess and a tow truck never came. I was able to drive the truck very slowly to the uhaul in Charlotte. When I got there they were able to get me the new truck. However, they closed right at 5p. That tells me that by the time uhaul would be able to get a tow truck out, it would have been to late and I would have been stuck in NC. This whole ore deal was unacceptable and I am very frustrated with the way uhaul dealt with the situation. By the time I got on the road it was 6:30p causing me to not bet to Alabama until midnight. It should never have taken 7 hours to deal with this problem. I am unhappy with uhaul with the way they handled this situation. I feel that I should get a little bit of a discount with the amount of money I paid. Lastly, I lost $45 dollars in gas when I filled up the previous truck before it broke down and I feel that I should be refunded that amount of money.Justine M.

1. In the middle of the pandemic, not even one of the half dozen employees who worked in the office or who came in from another part of the facility was wearing a breathing mask. 2. After I had moved the assigned trailer by myself and connected it to my vehicle, I discovered that the door would not open. I drove the 100 yards to the office and was told that, "Sorry, that door has been stuck for a long time, you'll have to drive back, disconnect that trailer, and hook up to a different one."John M.

I had rented a 6 x 12 covered trailer and had filled out all information on-line and had received a confirmation call- all on Thursday 9-10-2020. When I arrived the computer then said that my car was not rated for a 6 x 12, despite the information I had entered 2 days before. After 30 minutes of calls and computer work, I was able to get the trailer, but THERE WAS NO ONE THERE TO HELP ME ATTACH THE TRAILER TO MY CAR! It was very difficult to get the trailer hitch on the car directly in position as I was unable to lift the tongue on the trailer and maneuver it onto the hitch. Also, no one there to help me remove the trailer after use. If you are going to rent trailers of that size, either have someone too help or let me know in advance so I can bring some help or decide not to rent there. Note: The lady at the location was very nice, but couldn't help with attachment or removal. It was on Sear Country Road in Gloucester, VirginiaNorman M.

Straps on car transport were over tightened so I hat the tire straps were next to impossible to get out of the come along. It took 2 men and myself to get them out. Better maintenance of come alongs and check the straps before just saying all looks good. The UHaul office didn't do anything wrong this is a maintenance issue. They were so personable in the office. UHaul location was kind and nice. Uhaul needs to work on your computer system for the independent dealers. Slow , I signed up on line now way I should have had to wait 30 minutes to go back over the system. This happens at every independent dealer. Please improve.Hugh H.

I choose to use the U-Haul 24/7 app since I wanted to pick up my vehicle prior to opening hours. The app was poor! It was down when I arrived for pick up and cost me 45 min before I could get on the road.Jeff W.
I think it would be nice to keep the customers info on file for at least a six mo. period when they have already rented other items from U-haul within the six mo period therefor wouldn't have to go through the long form process that would be nice, I have found you go back the next week and have to do it all over again with no changes to the customers info.
