The uhual leaked and lights were constantly coming on and off. The point of a covered moving truck is to protect your belongings and now have a mine will not survive being soaked because the truck wasn't maintained.Pam K.

Drop off location was really convenient and the man who checked me in was really pleasant. Less than 5 minutes to wrap it up - fantastic. Now let's cover what happened in between pickup and drop off. First, let me say the truck was really nice & clean, and I was able to complete a 9-hour drive without fatigue. Next, there's exceptions, and this is where U-Haul needs to step things up. We stopped at a rest stop at 6:30AM and I accidentally locked the key in the truck (yeah, stupid me). Getting to roadside service was horrible. When I called the 800 number I went on hold and waited, and waited... guess what - they weren't open until 7:00, so you're on hold and there's no message saying what their hours are. Think of the poor person with a mechanical issue at 3:00AM and there's no way to connect with anyone. What they do encourage in the hold loop is to use the u-haul/help page on their website, which poses another problem. The website demands a specific street address to open a request. We were at a rest stop that had no address, and people have breakdowns on the freeway where there's no address. Can you see my frustration here? The systems and communication for these situations are so poorly designed that I'm convinced their creators must have died from shame. What I ended up doing to get a solution going was to find an address in a town 5 miles away on my mapping app and enter that into the request form, at the risk of having someone respond to that address instead of where I was. Another example of poor design is in getting help with your move. The website will provide recommendations of movers you can contact to help you load your truck and also unload at your destination. Nice feature, but it wants both load and unload locations and won't function for you if all you need is help unloading. It's great some of the time, sucks the rest of the time. In sum, U-Haul has a great fleet that I can recommend without hesitation. However, as an organization they are very poor at handling exceptions with reservations and roadside service, so beware and have a fallback plan in your back pocket.james L.

Returned the truck on the date per the contract but it was closed (Monday after Easter) Joel was there and able to check it in. Since it was closed he could not assist me with modifying the payment but said to come back the following day. Went back and was told since the truck was checked it he was not able to do it. Our trailor had 2 bald tires on the left side. I worried the night before about even making it to my destination (SLC). We did make it, the tailor itself was great,, just the condition of the tires. The receiving point said they will replace all 4 tires. Scary trip!!!!!JERRY P.

Have all equipment at the same place and make sure it is in working condition. Straps were fried on tow dolly which was at a different location than where we picked the truck up from. They tried to tell us frayed straps were OK and would PROBABLY get us to our destination! We said no then they told us we would have to come back the next day. Then uhaul called and said they had a dolly for us to pick up and that we had 15 minutes to let them know if we wanted it said we had to pick up that night and if we didn't we may take a chance of it not being there. This was at a totally different location. So this meant stop our loading and go get it. Total pain. When I spoke to the lady at uhaul and told her I was unhappy and she was smart mouthed and then I asked her to make a formal complaint and she said "me" I said I want a person above you. She gave me an 800 said have a nice day and hung up on me. Very poor service. I believe she said she a as at a ND office and I spoke to her on Thursday the 25th. I also was very confused when. I got 3 phone calls from people from other places that wanted to know if I wanted to rent a tow dolly. If uhaul was going to have another company rent me the dolly they should have informed me of that.BERNIDA G.
