I'm not to sure about the location the parking lot was extremely packed and was so hard to park the uhual I arrived at 8:15 and didn't finish to park uhual until 9pm they need to have a back up parking lot for thatCristian C.
The return of the rental was a nightmare to say the least!! No one to help with the return, they just keep telling everyone to use the app, while they were 3 agents just sitting around doing nothing and had the so many people waiting to return that the traffic was backed up for blocks. the check-in process was difficult, the truck had 13 miles of gas to empty which is very low, the mileage was not up to date when I got the truck and there were about 100 miles extra that I did not drive. Jay at the location was very helpful and I am glad that he managed the checkout with no issues, he was friendly and fixed the miles issue quickly... my 5-star is because of him.Ahmed Z.

When I arrived at 12:50pm, while I waited in line the staff was having a loud conversation using profanity. When I got to the counter the worker stated were booked up for today you have to come back tomorrow (she didn't want to do her job I'm guessing) there were plenty of trucks in the lot. I asked are all of these trucks going out. She stated yes people on on their way. I go to my car and book online and there was a reservation at 1pm which i went back in there and got the keys. I called earlier in the morning for confirmation of my unit’s reservation. They told me it was reserved but I couldn’t move in. Thus I thought to cancel. After booking a reservation with another storage provider, I get a call saying the reservation with the UHaul unit was actually confirmed, and I could have moved in the prior day. Shows that there’s terrible communication between the staff and poor understanding of the booking/reservation system in that respect. Furthermore, the Uhaul staff confused my move in date of 7/29 to 7/27, which is not what I wanted. I thus now have to pay for two days (7/28 and 7/27) where I am paying but can’t use the storage because I am not yet in town. Pretty subpar experience.Andre Z. | Online Move In

I was assigned a different location but this was was way closer and I didn't realize I couldn't do after hours drop off if it's not the â€œassigned locationâ€. They were willing and able to work with me and over super early, far earlier than the other location. So so so thankful for their understanding and flexibility!! Very kind too. Very rude staff, vehicle windscreen not cleaned, vehicle tire pressure was very low. On pointing out only the front left was corrected (for which the alarm was flashing) back left was low 60psig against the Uhaul recommended 80, Fuel gauge was much below what was reported in paperwork. We had problems with the equipment in Michigan and problems with the personell in Chicago. We arrived after a long day of driving and loading and unloading stuff. The personell did not allow us to leave the truck and tow dolly in this location even though it was the drop off location in my contract. They said that the system made changes online but we have a printed document with this location. Next day in the morning we returned the truck and dolly without problems in the same location. They say the personell made a mistake the previous night. This is really disappointing.MARIA D.

The girl who started helping me did not want to be at work, sighed for everything and was just not pleasant even when I was being nice. I had a Dolly on my order but they did not have Dollies available. Had to switch my vans multiple times in one instance the van had a broken side mirror that was placed as if it was fine and can be used but the minute I turned the car the mirror fell over and was being held together by a cord. When I asked to get my Dolly fee refunded the gentleman was got upset and told he would refund me but never did.Geansebastian R.

I would absolutely NOT recommend this place! I would advise people to use someone other than U-hual at ALL cost! I turned the vehicle in to the people in the parking lot a whole day early, but the workers in the parking lot did not turn it in or something. U-hual charged me over $100 extra! It was a holiday weekend. I called twice to try to work it out. Two different people said they worked it out, over the phone, but they still took the money out of my checking account automatically. This experience at this location was just horrible. There was one person working the desk, on a Friday afternoon, on the first of the month when everyone in the city of Chicago is moving. No one seemed to care about the customers. I paid 1000 dollars for this rental and was absolutely appalled at the service. The parking lot was half empty, yet we weren't allowed to park in it. There was a groundsman named Jay. He received and cleaned the trucks but he also floated in and out of the main store area. He was the epitome of customer service and kindness. There were times I felt disregarded but his kindness and constant communication made it all better. He should be trained to work inside directly with customers. This particular location needs to be reviewed. The automatic doors don’t work - they need electrician to fix. The staff are not welcoming at all. They are actually the opposite of welcoming. The place isn’t well maintained. It does the brand a disservice. One lady eventually warmed up and was nice. But they initially told me my reservation wouldn’t be available. When selecting my unit online the image of the space I purchased showed two Mattresses and an exercise bike and boxes. The space was big enough for these items however the door to access that storage room was too small to fit anything through?? The overall move-in experience has been great. Reserving online was a breeze and the storage unit was ready to go when I arrived at the facility. My storage unit has a few spider webs and a rusty hole in the ceiling but doesn't look like anything is leaking through it so it doesn't bother me that much. Horrible Rat infestation!! The rats left their poop & food all over unit #225. Not only was this disgusting but the rats ruined an Ethan Allen chair & got into my boxes leaving poop everywhere!! Numerous requests to address this problem were ignored!! Calls & emails weren’t returned. And upon my checkout I found out THAT NO NOTES WERE MADE of my complaints. This Rasheed should be fired!! I’m filing a claim against Uhaul for physical damage to my things & will seek emotional damages as well!!
