I was very surprised by the condition of the truck given my positive experience with UHaul in the past. The driver's side seat belt frequently got stuck, trapping me in the truck on a few occasions. Most notably, the drivers' side mirror was extremely loose and would not hold position, which caused it to rotate 180 degrees out after every bump in the road - I had to drive 80 miles with the window down holding it in position. This truck should never have been allowed in service. I was have returned it earlier had I discovered these issues before arriving at home on a tight moving schedule. Will likely rent elsewhere next time.

The employee's at this location are amazing. We had so many issues with the scheduling and customer service for UHAUL and these guys (one named Angel) were the ONLY helpful people we encountered. Thanks to them we were able to move out and move home. Thank you Broadway Chicago employees!

The wait time on a Saturday was ridiculous, both picking up and dropping off. There needs to be an anticipation that weekends are when people typically move and to staff appropriately.

I rented a van to move my stuff from my one bedroom apartment to another apartment and traveled roughly 12 miles the entire day. I expected to pay about $42 for the whole trip. When I received my final bill the total was $429. The 42 I expected to pay and another 380 for traveling over 1,000 miles, filling up the gas tank and a "1 day rental for $85." In reality I filled the tank up before I returned the van. There rental was from 10 am to 1 pm so I could have never traveled 1,000 miles and the price for a van with insurance is roughly $35 to $40, not $85. I contacted the building directly and was told they would refund me $270 for the error in mileage. They failed to address the additional $100 that they were trying to charge me for a move that took barely 3 hours and with a total distance around 12 miles. I will not recommend this location to anyone considering they tried to charge me 10 times what I agreed to pay and have yet to address the additional charges I've asked about.

Your policy of not allowing specific designation of the location to pick up a trailer is very frustrating. I'd requested a trailer at a location a couple miles from my house and was notified the day before my rental I had to pick it up at a location that was an hour away.

On weekends they should have more then one person checking people out at the register. It's a little annoying when you have two people standing up there but only one is checking in customers.

I made a reservation a month ahead of time. Come the day of my move, they didn't have my truck available. What is the point of the reservation if they don't have the truck available??? I had scheduled movers and had the street blocked off for a specific 4 hour chunk. This caused me a lot of headache and stress when moving is already incredibly stressful. If reservations are "pending availability" then you need to put that in huge red letters on your website. Then you need to give more than 24 hours notice of the time a truck would be available. Overall the managers and workers in the store were extremely nice and wonderful with everything else. The only problem was the reservation. Good people working there.

Make sure the gas gages are reading correctly. We drove 10 miles and had to put 5.5 gallons of gas into the tank to fill it.

I have rented from this location for years and I used to know the manager there. Now there seems to be a new manager and I do not get any response from this manager. They charged a $25 cleaning fee for the truck that I returned. I cleaned it all out as I always do so I am unable to figure out what this is for. I called last week and left a message but got no response. I called again and still nothing. They tell me they'll give the manager the message but I do not get any response. If this is not resolved I will dispute this charge on my Visa. Furthermore, I will not rent from there further if this is how they operate. It is unacceptable and there are plenty of other options.

There was a lot of running around finding a drop off location. I was told I could drop off the van at any location--so I went to the one that I usually go to. They told me I had to go to the location on the contract. I went there--it was closed. My partner called and was very upset that we wasted gas and exceeded our milage because we were told to go to the broadway location. Even when we dropped it off at the broadway location, the man on duty acted skeptical that we were told to drop this one way van order at this particular location. I have used uhaul a few times within the last 3 years and this was by far the most inconvenient and unorganized experience.

This was my first time towing anything. When I made the reservation over the phone, I asked what all I needed before pick-up. The person on the phone failed to tell me I needed wiring, so when I arrived for pick-up I was unable to take the trailer with me. I asked the gentleman at this location to please help me find another uhaul location that could wire my car as I needed to leave town ASAP. He called one place and said that there was nothing he could do and I would have to wait until tomorrow. The store was completely empty; his laziness, and unwilingnes to help a customer, was astonishing.
