Don't allow customers to rent from here. The only person in the building didn't know how to rent a truck and had to call uhaul customer service. My wife waited in the car while I was getting the truck and it wasted almost an hour of our time and we felt that we shouldn't have to pay full price for the rental because there were no trucks available near where we originally requested, so we had to pay over $40 in extra mileage charges. The truck had a leak so while driving several hours in the rain my wood furniture was soaking up water from the bottom of the truck. And the claim filing process for damages is a joke. Hire professionals, do not ever use Uhaul.Allison B.

I ordered my rental on lime. We wanted Elgin but none available, so I chose Genoa 34 miles away. But for some reason we had to go to Rockford 57es away. Kelly was amazing to contact U-Haul corporate to see about covering those extra miles we had to drive. We will definitely us Kelly for very local trips.Jennifer L.
8/5/2016 Uhaul screwed me on a rental truck. Reservations were made over 2 weeks ago. We are scheduled to move from Rockford, IL. to Elgin IL.- on 8/6/2016. With plenty of things all ready to do that comes with moving, I get a call this morning telling me I would have to drive 75 miles to Madison, Wisconsin to pick up the truck I reserved. That is completely asinine and UNACCEPTABLE! Especially when the agreement between me and the local agent was to pick the vehicle up in Rockford, Illinois. If you are concerned about making things right, then cut me a check for the additional $82 I had to spend last minute to reserve a moving truck through Budget or deliver the truck on time. I will never ever use U-Haul Again after this fiasco.Derek P.

There was 1 truck available & I called to confirm that it would be available at noon when the pickup was scheduled for. When I arrived the attendant was out to lunch despite the noon confirmation on the ONE truck- must've been an excitedingly busy morning to forget that someone was coming in for the 1 vehicle that was available at the time. When the attendant finally did arrive she was visibly iiritated that someone dare interrupt her precious lunch hour- as evidenced by my hello to a non responsive stare, which is never an endearing quality in a service position. I realize Ely is a small litlle backwards town, but it seems to me that complacency & entitlement may have set it in a long time ago. Please don't be like the rest of corporate America & forget that the people who are representing your best interests are the face of your company & each individuals experience is dicated by their individual experience.STEPHEN L.

Two tires were bald when they rented the equipment, I had them put the tires from another trailer on the one I rented before I left, also the bearings were leaking grease. the Bald tires were put on another car transport for rent, U-haul better hope there is not a major wreck because of the lack of a checklist procedure and those tires give out on a freeway. The girl behind the counter kept on saying the F word while we were trying to pick up the trailer and truck. She was rude and very non helpful. I will never recommend this business to anyone. I have let everyone I know what a bad experience it was. The only good thing is that one of the mechanics was very helpful in helping me get the trailer and hook it up. The girl behind the counter was a nightmare. She was also smoking a cigarette while she was assisting us. I will never ever go back.Debra O.

The rudest person I've ever met who left to go home with us standing in the parking lot. Had one car hauler that we had reserved and driven 145 miles to get and discovered it was broken. Did nothing to help us and I had to call central office. Horrible experience!!!LORI H.
The young woman there was rude, inconsiderate and took two hours to complete a lunch break. The mechanics there didn't know how to get ahold of her, and when she finally returned, never even apologized. Wouldn't recommend their service to anybody, unless you absolutely had to use them.michelle M.

The truck had mud in the storage area of the truck. Also I was not given an itemized receipt to see what I was charged for. I rented a 26 ft. truck for 1 day and it cost me 153.00. I was quoted 49.99 for the day and .49 per mile. She stated that I drove 153 miles, but didn't show me the milage log. I didn't check the milage before we left the rental place.RUTHANN N.

I've rented many trailers and trucks from U-Haul over the years, but the service I received from D&S was the worst I've ever seen. The young gal who did my paperwork was almost rude and I had to hook the trailer up to my vehicle myself with no help or guidance from anyone at D&S. If they don't want to deal with U-Haul then somebody else in Ely, NV should take it over. Had I sent my wife to pick the trailer up, there is no way she could have hooked the trailer up by herself.Harvey H.

The 26' truck was in excellent condition and performed better than expected. The car carrier, however, was in extremely poor condition. The restraiing mechanism for the right front wheel repeatedly came undone. I understand that the responsibility for equipment is more an organizational than a dealer concern.JAMES S.
