Reservation was quick and truck was available on day of the rental. Pricing was excellent since I only rented truck for one hour. completed the job. There was a delay in truck pickup because computer systems were down but gladly they came backup and I was able to complete.

They did not discuss the rate/pricing or return protocol with me at all. Then when I returned the truck and tried to confirm what I was going to be charged I was urged to leave and told that I would be emailed the receipt. Upon receiving that receipt, I was charged way more than the amount quoted for online with zero explanation on why I was being charged certain fees. I called back urgently to dispute this problem, but no one would answer the phone.

The system for drop off is confusing and ineffective. We were shunted to 2 separate locations. The app system didn’t work for a return because the person who was on the paperwork was not the person who was returning so we ended up having to call. The whole process was annoying and time confusing.

The truck required oil, which was revealed in-transit, at the peak of rush hour while I was driving on the NJ Turnpike. It was a huge time waster for me to have to find a Uhaul location, as I was instructed to do by Uhaul. And the staff didn't tell me I would need to submit pictures and info on the truck before I drove off. Even with these significant time wasting problems, the staff was very pleasant and the truck was modern and clean.

Hire people that care. We came to the location and the truck was not here, so we asked if the guy had an idea of the timing or what we could do the answer was “not my problem”. We were a bit confused, and asked to find a solution because the only 3 words he knew was “not my problem” (not even hello thanks or goodbye). Kind of hard to deal with that kind of useless people. Ended up getting the truck an hour late with no help from the guy.

Hi - This was truly a terrible experience from start to finish. The truck was in terrible condition and I was overcharged by approximately $100. First, while the truck I received drove ok, the appearance and cleanliness were absolutely awful. So many exterior issues I can’t even try to list them all. The entire truck was spray painted, the cab roof was indented, the corner of the box was held together with duck tape and cardboard, and the interior and of both the cab and the box were filthy (dirt and gravel in the back and an McDonald’s burger box in the cab). I was willing to let this go as I just wanted to get the job (a quick run back and forth to ikea) done. The man at the pickup location (who appeared to be the owner of the garage/gas station) said I could return the truck anytime that evening and use self checkout. HOWEVER, when I returned the truck in the evening using self checkout, I was required to pay more than double what I should have! I would have refuted this if I was returning to a live person but there was no way to due so during the self checkout process. The extra charges were twofold, both of which I would like refunded. (1) I was charged for two rental periods/days (an additional the $19.95/day rental fee and $17/day insurance), despite having returning the truck on time the same day (I confirmed with the man when picking up that I could return anytime before the next morning, which I did). (2) I was charged mileage of over 40 miles, despite having only driven directly back and forth from the pickup location (392 Leonard St Brooklyn) to IKEA (1 Beard St Brooklyn). This is only 12.8 miles. At $1.99 per mile, I was overcharged $60+ for mileage. I look forward to hearing back to get this issue resolved. Thank you very much for your assistance. Scott Miller

My issue is with the UHAUL agents I spoke with that had no knowledge of this locations reservations being thru the app/online only. I spoke with two different UHAUL agents that gave me wrong information that forced me to spend an additional $200-250 on my reservation. It was a nightmare experience, all due to UHAUL agents, not this location.

The location is over charging me and claiming I drove over 90 miles vs the actual 9 miles I did. Further more I filed a claim and uhaul is still trying to charge my card for the additional charge. This is so frustrating and poor service I will never go back to this location or use uhaul again. It’s not rocket science get your act together and fix my account and bill and stop trying to charge me for extra money.

The website for the 24/7 rental did not work when it came down to explaining how to get the keys from the lock box or how to return. The app was the same issue and it crashed when I tried to return the truck. Spent countless hours trying not figure this out.

My pick up time was 10am. I had to call A1 auto that I was running late. I received the most caring reassurance that everything was ok and that they would be waiting. When I arrived I was met with harm welcomes and the process of checking out the truck was great and I was on my way. I only wish I would have gotten names to give credit here. Great job A1.

I reserved a truck 2 months before I needed it in fears that nothing would be available on my reserved date. My fears came true when I arrived at the pickup location and nothing was available. Luckily someone was able to sort something out, but this was additional stress in a stressful situation. Then, the attendant put in the contract that the tank on the truck was full, so I would return it with a full tank. I got into the truck and it was on 1/4 tank. Halfway through using the truck, the engine light went on and the truck overheated. Finally, when I was returning the truck, I got stuck in horrendous traffic, causing the truck to be returned 20 minutes late. This is where I was charged $38 for a late return which is ridiculous since no one was going to need the truck at 10pm.

No really parking lot. You're just left to street park in williamsburg which is stressful. But the worst part is definitely getting in the van and realizing the gas light is on and the dashboard is showing a message that one of the tires needs air. Not a way to start your moving day.

Van worked fine but was dirty. The odometer was wrong from what the owner had by many miles. I returned late but was unable to check out because of misinformation. In the end, the owner was very helpful and gave me a fair bill.

Was charged $20 for after hours service fee even though the vehicle was picked up early afternoon and dropped before 5pm. No explanation, no warning and can't contact the location. Now having to spend extra time to get this figured out.

The guy who works there is a horrible human. I was using a U-haul to salvage whatever I can from my burnt down apartment and I was trying to park the car where he told me to but a big truck was blocking my way. I didn’t go the way he wanted which he aggressively said that I was wasting his time with my incompetence. This did not sit with me or my partner well because it was totally unprovoked. My partner went into the U-Haul and asked for his badge information where he threatened to expose his genitals to us. Twice. Sexual and verbal harassment just because I didn’t drive the way he wanted for me to park the car. Never want to use this service again.

This place was an absolute nightmare. Really enjoying being yelled at by thr manager after an 11 hour drive. U-Haul, do us all a favor make an option to not have to use your terrible app. Why can’t we just turn on the vehicle to the establishment anymore? It took me an hour to turn this vehicle in, because the internet wasn’t working properly. What if your customers phone dies? There is no way to return the vehicle then. Plus the drop off location has no incentive to be helpful anymore. It’s crazy. Spent $700 on this van plus gas for a day and get yelled at by the gas station manager for not “using the app” properly on my phone. Your service has gone to shit. Fix it!

This location was the least helpful location of any Uhaul location I’ve ever been to. Upon returning the uhaul truck, they told me i could not park on their property; the same location i rented it from. Then they refused to take it back for me. I was forced to return it online myself and they pointed to a paper in the window saying they charge $20 if we don’t return the vehicle ourselves. It wasn’t an option though, it was mandated to return it ourselves; i would’ve paid the $20 just to not deal with it. Going through the process i locked the keys in the vehicle. They offered no help or solutions. Told me i had to Google a locksmith myself and pay out of pocket (which i did). Gone are the day where you do business with a company and they offer whatever help possible to keep earning your business. I will never rent from this location. And not that it hurts Uhaul pockets, but i will do my research on Uhaul alternatives and be sure to share my results with anyone i can. Moving is an often emotionally exhausting and traumatic experience, and locations like this adversely impact your mental health during an already overwhelming task. Oh, and by the way, the hood of the vehicle popped up several times on the highway, and the passenger door would not close all the way. I would have to close the passenger door, and then shove it closed immediately after to close all the way. But when i tried to annotate that in the closing procedures the website would not proceed forward with it. So i just marked that the vehicle was fine and proceeded forward. Not an exaggeration either. I definitely would not find it safe for the next renter.

Staff was incredibly unprofessional. My Uhaul reservation was given away to another customer when I arrived even though I arrived within the time frame of my reservation. No communication was received notifying me of this prior. After complaining to the staff, we were finally given Uhaul (different from the one I ordered). However, we were told we could only use the Uhaul for two hours - 4 hours less than our original reservation. If this option didn’t work, we were told the next reservation was not available until this Monday. Additionally, the vehicle was turned over to us with the gas tank close to empty. After we complained about the gas tank level, the staff allowed us to gain access to the Uhaul for an additional 3 hours. Returning the vehicle was smooth, but also perplexing as many Uhaul were available in the parking and contradicted the earlier claim that everything had been reserved since Monday. Will never rent from this location again.

The connection to the app and website on the day that I was trying to pick up my rental was so bad because of high site volume that it took me an extra 30 minutes to complete the steps to unlock my vehicle. Additionally the wait times for customer help were very long with further prolonged my experience. Finally the mirror on the right side passenger side door kept moving from where I set it and felt very dangerous to drive with given that every bump I hit moved the mirror and I didn't have a way to move it back.

The Uhaul was filthy when I picked it up. The entire truck was covered in dust and dirt from the prior customer. I would have like Uhaul to clean the vehicle but they failed to do so. Disappointing experience.

The UHaul app is still incredibly unstable. I got a message right when I was about to pick up the car, saying that I had to do extra verification. Quote from the online staff:’ because you are renting in NY while you are holding Florida license’. This doesn’t make any sense at all because I did rent U-Haul truck before and I’ve never been asked to do so. This process took me about 15 mins to complete and it’s a pain in the ass. Since U-Haul have all the opportunity to inform me this process (if needed) when I booked the truck, why this happened when the time kick-off and I was about to pick up the truck? This made me spend unnecessary time and I really, do feel like this is intentional.

I just sent the following email to u-Haul. I can't upload the supporting photos here. http://uhaul.com/s/4E03732428 To Whom It May Concern: I booked a U-Haul for April 26th at 392 Leonard. Online it seemed as I had to return it by 4:30pm. At time of pickup it was explained to me that the location closes at 4:30pm but I could return the truck whenever I wanted. I estimated 9pm. The man I spoke with said the return time did not matter, as long as I processed the return via the App, which is posted on a sheet of paper next to the drop box. If I did not, I would be charged $20. When I picked up the truck the fuel was at 25 miles, so I went back to the location office to complaint the fuel was so low. At 4am, after a whole day of moving, my husband and I went to the location to return the truck and put gas (the location is also a small gas station). The pumps were not operating. So I drove to a gas station nearby and put gas (receipt in attachment). I filled the gas tank to 40 miles as shown in photo. Then we went back to the location, and the same man who I talked to at pick-up was opening the location and the gas station (4:30am). We asked where he wanted us to park and he said to leave it where we were. He took the key of the truck. He said I had to do the return process via the App. I had to ask for the key back because the photos I took could not be uploaded, I had to take them while the App was open. I uploaded the photos of the odometer and the fuel (both in attachment) in the App. Not sure it was done correctly, I asked the man to help me, but he refused. We were exhausted so we left, thinking everything was fine. Now I see the bill with charges that I think should not be charged to me. Link to the bill attached. After hours Service Fee $20 – Why? We did all by ourselves. $30 Fuel Service Charge – I put gas $31.50 6GL – I put the gas, more than I should have Please review my supporting documents and adjust my charges / refund me accordingly.

The owner/operator was efficient and clear at the pick up. All good marks there. The problem is U-haul's new App. It's completely unusable. It takes forever, it's hard to read, it makes missed assumptions, requires using the location of your phone, and generally makes a total mess of what used to be a strait forward rental transaction. Truly hard to believe anyone at Uhaul thought this would make the customer happy.

The people are rude and unhelpful. The truck was dirty, like grimy dirty. The trucks brakes were bad. A couple times I almost hit vehicles in front of me because the brakes didn’t work properly. Also the truck made a loud whirring sound which I think is related to the brakes.

Overall app/login experience as a first time user was pretty rough. Setting up the account was so complicated-I kept getting sent authentication codes that would not work, location services I don’t use on my phone had to be turned on. It took us a half hour just to confirm we were at the location. I’m not a grandma, and understand tech, so this was a lot!

I did not enjoy the online experience. There was an attendant there who could have done all of it, but I had to waste my time doing the check in /check out procedures on my phone instead. Also, two of the tires had low air and the guy didn't have the equipment to fill the tires.

Absolutely terrible!!!! First I signed up for a location near my house and then received a call saying there wasn't a van there so had to go to another. At that location there was no one there (I signed up to check out from a person) and the mobile procedure is straight up fucked!!! The buttons don't work on an iphone. It was a nightmare. Then there were no furniture blankets in the van and I was picking up furniture! Perhaps worst of all, when I returned the van the guys working there couldn't be bothered with my complaints--even though it was their fault there were no furniture blankets. They were rude. This place is the worst van rental place in history. I'm going to leave the worst review possible on yelp and any other site I can come across. GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER FOLKS!!!

The employees at that location are horrible they were not helpful in anyway and rude. I was also charged $20 for some type of convenience fee In which no one came out to inspect our return or collect the key I was directed by the employee to drop off the key in some hole in the wall. Literally a hole in the wall.
